If you were dudek - Would you stay?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby anfieldadorer » Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:50 pm

Dudek has been deeply involved in Liverpool' s struggle to survive and in turn reclaim our own destiny as the Kings of Europe in Houllier's treble as well as Benitez's european champion. But it's seems that those are not enough to Rafa. Rafa needs a more confident figure to guard our defense which he ultimately found it in Reina. (sorry, 4 pints of gintonic writes this)

So, if you were Dudek, would you leave?

"I hope that I will be able to leave because my situation is beginning to make me angry. I have promised myself that I will do everything to leave.
"My time at Liverpool is over but I can't look for an alternative on my own. This week I will meet with Benitez and see what he will let me do. All I want is to find a new club and be able to prepare for the World Cup.

"I'm going to hold a grudge against him if he doesn't let him me go in January. I have never been one to make problems and I have made that clear to Benitez.

"I hope on this occasion he'll show me the same respect I show him. I hope that we will be able to talk things through."

Dudek wasn't signed til Summer 2001.

But yes, I'd go if I was him. It's obvious he's not in Rafa's plans.

I read once that he was playing for the reserves? I just thought what a lad, to accept that without complaining after being a hero.

In all fairness yes, I'd go. And in all fairness, Rafa should understand him IMHO.

if you ask me, istanbul is exactly the reason why dudek should leave the club in the transfer window.

I think he means a hero of a CL champions, DESERVES to be playing in at least, a decent club, in order he earns his place to the WC. That's why I want him to leave. He deserves it.

He spilled a good few crosses and had Carragher shouting at him to get his act together.

like sabre says, he'll always remembered as a hero for istanbul and deserves better than to be sitting on the bench week in week out.

there's no place for sentiment in football. we have a better keeper now and it's time for jerzy to move on.

I hope he leaves. He is first goalie material for most other clubs in the world.

Dudek knows that Reina and Carson are above him in the pecking order at Anfield.  Also the 1 million he would get would be handy too

I'd really like to see him play vs Luton. Real shame that it's not a home tie, as it would be great if he could say his goodbyes walking off the Anfield pitch after a game. Looking at the fixtures coming up, that's not likely to happen if he's leaving during the window.

On his day, he's still a great goalkeeper, and I really hope he gets enough action elsewhere to give him a shot of making the Poland first 11 for the World Cup.

Id leave if i was him yes.

To do a big thing such as save a penalty, which resulted in Liverpool winning the Champions League and then being replaced by someone else seems a bit unfair.

But im happier with Reina in goal to be honest
