I dont see how this is not an important competition.
its a chance to win more silverware, which is what the players of liverpool football club play for at the end of the day.

From Liverpoolfc.tv-

Liverpool jet off to Japan today for the Club World Championship with Jamie Carragher insisting they are going there to win it.
Contrary to what certain critics may think Carragher believes success in Japan would be 'special' and one that he'd be proud to have on his CV.

Speaking ahead of the gruelling 15-hour flight to Tokyo, he said: "Liverpool have never won the Club World Championship and it would give us real kudos if we could add the world crown to our European title.

"Winning the tournament would help our standing in world football. It would be historic to see the words: Liverpool, Champions of the World.

"At the end of my career, when I look back on all the things I have won, being a world champion would be pretty special. What a great thing to put on your CV.

We should pull out of this farcial tournament and send that circus of a football club called "Real Madrid" to represent us because they'd do anything for money.

It is a travesty for fine footballers who have yet to really peak like Iker Casillias to play for a clown of a club president like Perez who has turned Real Madrid into a circus act.

Mighty Mo, for the record I think Casillias is the best goalkeeper in Spain, ahead of Reyna. It may heve seem that he has played for a long time but it is only because he established himself at Real Madrid at 17 or 18.

SUNDAY - First game

Al-Ittihad 1 x 0 Al-Ahly

So, Al-Ittihad will play against São Paulo FC on Wednesday.

Liverpool will still have to wait until tomorrow to know its opponent (Saprissa x Sydney).

Probably. I know he played for Malaga.

He also played for Brazilian team besides Ronaldo in 1999 or 2000.

You may also know some other players from São Paulo.
Cicinho - right corner and the substitute of Cafu. He will play for Real Madrid next season.

Júnior - Left corner and played for Brazilian team in World Cup 2002. He was the substitute of Roberto Carlos. He also played for Parma.

Rogério Ceni - golakeeper that scores a lot in freekicks. He was also in World Cup 2002.

Lugano - defender of Uruguay.

And there are other players which are not so famous.

Atletico Paranaense avenged their Libertadores Cup final defeat to Sao Paulo by beating the same opponents 4-2 in a stormy match played in their Arena da Baixada stadium in Curitiba.the game was interupted by a teenage streaker in a gorilla mask....

Ok what was the streakers name? :D
