Warnock could cement place in england squad. - Cole crocked

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Feeney » Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:51 pm

Ashley Cole has been ruled out of England's forthcoming World Cup qualifiers with Austria and Poland.

The Arsenal defender has sustained a stress fracture of the foot and looks set for at least a month on the sidelines.

Cole picked up the problem during England's training session on Tuesday and the news will be a huge blow both to Sven Goran Eriksson and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Eriksson has called up Liverpool's Stephen Warnock, but he insists England still have plenty of options despite Cole's untimely withdrawal.

Hopefully Warnock can get into the left back position for these two games and cement his place in the world cup squad. I'd be made up for the lad, i think he's a quality player, and very much in the mould of Carra will only get better.

Warnock's a good player, pity he appears a little injury prone.

At least he has a heart. Traore shows about as much emotion as a pile of bricks. His defending has the characteristics of a gooseberry, and he has the style and flair of a kettlechip. Warnock should be our 1st choice LB. He made Ronaldo look like a dildo vs Man Ush*ted.

I would love Warnock to play but he wasnt in the original squad so i dont think its likely.
Phil Neville will probably play which is a joke, but as he has been playing regulaly he will get the nod.
Funny how it didnt matter whether Owen played regulaly though  :D

Jamie Carragher will play instead of Warnock i feel.

Eriksson "We have a lot of options there, Jamie Carragher is one, Warnock is another, Kieran Richardson is playing left-back for Manchester United at this moment," he said.

Hopefully Carragher, Gerrard and  Warnock will all get a 24 hour flu bug and be unable to play and then they'll recover as soon as the match finishes. :)
