Who do you think should play on the left side of midfield. I personally think Riise is much better than Zenden, Riise is much more of a threat and can strike one hell of a ball.

Remember his goal against Manure a few seasons ago, it was a cracker of a free kick.

No doubt about it...Riise is more of a threat going forward, he plays with more spirit and drive and he is better defensively.

Couldnt agree more mate, Midfield should be Riise, Alonso, Sissoko and gerrard against manure.

Kewell ? :D  What do you mean "stop being ridiculous" ? You started it by implying Zenden is half the player Riise is :D

I'd pick Riise over Zenden 9 times out of 10, from what I've seen of Zenden giving us. Neither of them have the true elements and/or skill to be a truly great winger, though.  Riise can do a job there, I admit. But, he shouldn't be a permanent solution. While, Zenden...hasn't really convinced me at all playing there. He whipped in a couple of good crosses during pre-season, missed a relatively easy header against Sunderland, then passed the ball for Garcia's goal against Betis. Nothing all that great comes to mind from when I've watched him. Riise is more of a threat down the left flank, I think. In any case, I would pick a fit and in decent form Harry Kewell in front of both of them.

There both shiteeeeee, Id have Traore left back and Warnock in left mid.  Thats where young Warnock got player off the season for Coventry.

Riise is and will be probably one off the shitttest left backs we have ever had.  He cant read the game the way a defender needs to read the game.

I agree with everyone else, Riise on the left. I'd love to see Kewell playing there to add some flair but I've no idea if he's close to being fit. ManU are coming at a bad time for them and a good time for us. They're going to leave with no points.

Just how little commitment does a player have to show to our great club before some people will realise they're just not going to cut it? ???

And on the origional question, there's no contest! Based on what we've seen so far from both players Riise offers far more on the left. And he seems to realise the importance of games against the scum and seems to raise his game accordingly.

Oh, just one more thing, I know it's a little simplistic but I can't help it............

riise by a mile.

zenden's best position is central midfield. that's where he excelled at boro. he's not got the pace to play wide.

the main problem is he's probably our fifth best central midfielder.

I've voted for Zenden.  Not because he's played better so far, but because I feel sorry for him.  Give him a chance, I think he'll improve.  He's trying, so I'm happy to support him for now.

zenden is absolutely shockingly :censored:! riise has a better shot , takes players on better and from ive seen zenden cant cross ball part from the goal the other night , zenden would truggle to find a palce in ther eserves if i was in charge! he dosetn deserve a change he was a decent player in a avergae side last year and hes nothing in a good red side ( soon 2 be great when we get joaquin and gonzales) !!
