The problem is they both have aspects to their game that the other doesn't. I'm a big Riise fan but although Zendens pace wasn't the best best his crossing in the Kaunas game was good.

I think only time will tell if Zenden can integrate into the Liverpool team and really impose himself on the team selection

Chelsea forever, you know :censored: thats why you talk :censored:. If attacking isn't riises forte are you saying that he is better at defending? . Riise is so highly regarded for his ''attacking ability'' not his ability in defending. What the hell are you on.

I really don't care who plays at left wing, both of htem are capable of playing there at the same level. i think rafa will rotate between the two.
i think he will use riise at left wing when we want to be more defensive and use zenden when more attacking.

Zenden might be old now and might have lost his pace. But he stil is, any day, a better attacking player than Risse.

Risse cannot take on defenders, all he has is a good cross.

Zenden has the ability to cut in and actually 'create' a scoring opportunity, although he might not shine in every game, he certainly will contribute over the season as long as he is in good shape.

Zenden over Risse any day.

Zenden might be old now??

You have said that about Morientes too in previous posts.  What's your definition of old then you muppet??  28/29?  Wise up.

At least we have two players competing for 1 postion.

Zenden is the sort of player who needs to play regulary to get his form, at Chelsea he could never stay in the team and that was one of the reasons he never really showed any consistent form. Zenden isn't a world beater, but he is a smart signing on a free and gives us an additional option on the left.

Im gonna sit on the fence and say there isnt too much between them, for me it would just about who ever took there chance.

I'm not knocking Zenden he is a very useful signing...especially on a free, BUT there is no way he should take Riise's place.
I am a big fan of the lad, he is totally committed to the club works hard and chips in with his fair share of goals.
I know he isn't skillfull but lets be honest neither is Zenden.
I am certain that he offers more to the team.
Chelsea forever you seem like a decent enough lad and dont come on here just to take the p@ss, but you are totally wrong about this one.
It may be because you have Duff and Robben imo world class wingers...i agree Riise is not on their level but he is a very important member of our team that is always an attacking threat. There are not many so called full backs or wing backs that could of hit a volley like he did against yourselves in the league cup final.

Riise - Left Back
Zenden - Left Wing

Although i'd prefer to see Riise on the left wing, we need someone who is capable of playing left back, Traore is perhaps the most clumsy player in the PL and provides NO ATTACKING THREAT WHATSOEVER - and Warnock just doenst have the ability. So for me, Riise has to play left back, leaving the left wing open for Zenden... [this is why my vote for a CB goes to Gallas, because he can also play left back, meaning we can play Riise in his most effective position (Left Wing)]

The Left Winger In Pecking Order :

Riise
Zenden
Warnock
Kewell

So nothing to argue about because Rafa will arrange well. :;):

Zenden is an excellent signing indeed but his place is where he shined for Boro last season and that was in the centre. Unfortunatly we are already packed in that area. Im sure Gerrard, Alonso, Hamman and Sissoko all figure ahead of Zenden in the centre. But with Risse we always get that suge of energy blasting down the left, not to mention he as an awesome left foot for shooting as weve al witnessed.

Warnock right at the bottom.
