I also rate Owen and will stand by him during his tough time now. He has his injuries and his indifferent spells, but if we could get a good season out of Owen we would see a 15-20 point improvement over our current position, regardless of who are manager is.
However, I blame the management for not having a suitbale back up plan to scoring when Owen is injured. Watching the game against Leicester yesterday we did little to threaten the Leiciester goal other than from long range, and while Baros causes havoc with his running and enthuasism, he is still not a penalty box player and has a lot to learn.
I want Owen to stay and I hope the club is doing everything possible to keep him, but if he flat out rejects a contract in the summer and says he wants to go then we should try to sell him if we can.
However, if he chooses to sit out his contract and leave on a Bosman I wouldn't really blame him, given our current inability to meet his ambitions and play to his strengths.
