Kuyt instead of owen?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Cisse, Baros, Mellor and probably a few more would all have to leave for Owen and Kuijt.

We're not going to sign both Owen and Kuyt, it's going to be one of the two. More likely it's Kuyt and I can see why.

I have a feeling Rafa's comments on Kujit may just be a smokescreen. Why talk about a striker when he has been maintaing we don't really need one (unless Saturday changed his mind). I know he is a known admirer of the player but i still feel Owen will be back at the club by transfer deadline day. Rafa has had ample opportunity to poor water cold water on  all the Owen speculation but has neglected to do so, choosing instead to repeat his new catch-phrase 'i need a centre-back'.

Any deal to bring back Owen is clearly complicated with Rafa unwilling to pay more than we got for the lad last summer while (the few clubs that are interested - still baffles me!) other clubs are willing to pay more. Talking up Kujit could be a ploy to force any transfer fee + Michael's wage demands to a more acceptable level.

As for bringinig both players to the club - That seems unrealistic but you never know.

I thought he would prefer a move to Spurs seen as Jol has shown an interest ,and the fact its his fellow country man along with Davids.  ???

He wants to win things and he knows he can at Liverpool where as he may not win anything at Spurs. Even with Jol or davids.

Why on earth are people talking about Kuyt?
We could not agree on a price for him before so we signed Peter Crouch, and I don't see us going back to empty our wallets on him now.

We already have Cisse and Morientes so why get another player who is untested in the premiership? If we are going to make room for another striker there is only one person, a world class #1 international who is guaranteed to score goals at this level: Michael Owen. Forget Kuyt for now.

Every one wants to win things ,but i was led to believe he prefers a move to Spurs and they are on the look out nowespecially as King Kanoute has gone.

exactly my thoughts.

kuyt is primarily a target man. we wouldn't have gone out and brought crouch if we had any serious interest in kuyt whatsoever.

Liverpool- Champions League Football
Tottenham- No Champions League, No UEFA Cup

From now on Tottenham will be linked with every Dutch player just like we are linked with every Spanish player.

Kuijt is for me a good choice.

He is first choice at his club (not 6th)
He is strong (not weak)
He is very committed (not lazy)
He will be loyal (not disloyal)
He is quick
He is dangerous with both feet also from outside the box (not only from 5 yards)
He will work really hard for the team (not just hang around and wait)
He is good in the air (not a midget)
+++++

clubs are lining up for his services ( not only wigan and souness)
the club don't want to lose him (as opposed to desperate to sell)

BUT let's get that centre half and that right wing first!!!!!!
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.
