Yeh he's great in the air, and strong on the ball. With Bolton playing a very direct style of football he could do very well for them.

Borgetti was excellent in the Confederations Cup for Mexico and the World Cup in 2002.

I would say;

1st. Sh*tski.
2nd. LFC
3rd. Arsenal
4th. Scum
5th. Tottenham
6th. Bolton/Villa.
============
17th. Everton.

I don't think we can realistically challenge money bags this time around, but I feel that we will be very close to a championship winning side. Ofcourse if Beni pulls off a couple of masterstrokes in the transfer market, then we may have a shot. (Unrealistic, as I said.)Everton are going to feel the ground hitting their bottoms very soon, and it'll be all the sweeter for their comments.

1st. Chel$ki/@rse
2nd. Chel$ki/@rse
3rd. LFC/Man Ure
4th. LFC/Man Ure

5th & 6th. Boro/Spurs/Bolton/Villa.

A few things need to happen for my predictions to come true. @rse may hva lost Paddy V, but they still have Henry and that man can score goals, but if he gets a long term injury, I can't see Reyes and Bergkamp covering as well as he would have, so they may even slip into a three way battle with Us and Man Ure. Speaking of the Scum, I still can't bring myself to right them off as I don't want to get my hopes up, so expect them to be fighting us all the way. Roman's roobles (spelling?) have almost certainly bought him title no. 2, but injuries could still take the silver away from Stamford Bridge, if @rse really pick up. 5th and 6th are up for grabs and I can't see the Toffees making it up to this end of the table for two years in a row.

Chelski have petr cech but since we've new keeper we're gonna win the league  ???

My prediction is Chelsea to come first with man u and arsenal 2nd and 3rd respectively.ManUre have the second best squad in the league and have plenty of depth and an experienced manager even if we do all hate them. Arsenal may have lost viera but they missed gilberto last year in the holding role and he'll be back. They also have hleb who looks a decent player and a team that can score goals from everywhere. We'll come 4th but way closer to the top 3. In fact so close that the phrase top 3 wont be used anymore and pundits will talk about the top 4! 5th will be spurs. They've signed some quality players such as davids, reid and routledge who i think we should've taken a gamble on on a free as we've no real right winger. Newcastle will get 6th providid they sign a decent striker in the next few days and hold onto jenas.

Under Souness, Newcastle will not make it in the top six.

we have a much stronger squad - stronger in goal, midfield and equal in attack, but we offer more goals in attack.

My top six would be

1. Chelsea
2  liverpool/Arsenal/Man Utd
3. Liverpool/Arsenal/Man Utd
4. Liverpool/Arsenal/Man Utd
5. Tottenham
6. Middelsborough

Chelsea have too much quality for any one at the moment.
I think it will be a three way fight for 2nd place between LFC, Arsenal and Man utd with not much between the three at the end of the season, i actually fancy us to finish second with arsenal third and utd fourth

I totally agree. Souness has to be the worst manager opperating in the Premiership today. His history of alienating players like Yorke, Cole and Robert, the Bowyer/Dyer thing, his relasionship with Bellamy and his consistant poor form. His tactics are too rigid, he doesn't know how to buy players and blind arrogance seems to be his only weapon. I can't see him lasting the season, and if he starts to crumble quickly, I can't see him making X-mas.

Newcastle gave up on Robson after a couple of bad results and paniced into buying Souness. At least Robson had the power to inspire his players and shop well in the market. Souness is trying to bluff his way through managment because he is such a bad pundit and he craves the limelight. Considering how good he was on the pitch, it's almost depressing to see how bad of a manager he is now.

my contribution:

1. arsenal
2. chelsea   5 pts behind
3. liverpool  11 pts behind
4. man utd  12 pts behind
5. tottenham
6. everton
7. middlesboro
8. bolton
9. charlton
10. aston villa
==============
18. sunderland
19. west brom
20. wigan
------------------

i feel that arsenal will return this year regardless of vieira, they have enough in fabregas/gilberto etc to cope in the middle. i just think chelsea will miss out on the prem. because mourinho will pursue other avenues first. (C.L).
liverpool will be very strong before christmas. and although tiredness WILL creep in, new year, rafa will pull someone out of the hat im sure, be it, somebody from the squad or transfer. as for united, they too will be around, they still have a reasonably good squad, if ageing.

cups wise, if im allowed to go out on an even longer limb.....

F.A. CUP:  liverpool or tottenham (could meet in final)

LEAGUE CUP: west ham

CHAMPIONS LGE: barcelona (poss. chelsea)! i know!

UEFA CUP: lyon

pick the bones out of that, but i feel we will consolidate this year, just its going to be interesting NEXT year with regards to fitness/suspensions etc AFTER the world cup....and who if any rafa actually gets in to the squad.

-Everton's European fixtures (UEFA Cup) will be their downfall. Their squad is very very thin, they hardly have any cover for most positions. Few injuries here and there, they will find it difficult to achieve anything close to what they did last season. The rest of the Premiership now knows what to expect from Everton when they play against them so there will be no element of surprise like there was last season. Imo Everton won't finish in the top six

-Tottenham are the heavy favourites to finish in the top five and I think one of the reasons why is because they have young English players and are another London club. They've made some descent signings but nothing that will make them a top five team overnight. They've bought 300 central midfielders but not any players that will improve them at the back. All of their signings are for the "future" rather for the present.

Explain   :kungfu:

Are you suggesting that with any other mgr they would make it into the top six ?
Or is this just a cheap shot at Souness  ? because like most of us already know the newcastle squad as is, are outsiders to make it into the top 6 . ?

expect more from you AB .

No it's not a cheap shot towards Souness, I don't think Souness is good enough of a manager to take Newcastle from 14th to 6th place in one season. The Newcastle chairman[forgot his name] should had given Robson one more year instead of sacking him after a couple of bad results and had Robson stayed last season Newcastle would had finished higher up in the table.

Souness is supposed to bring discipline and yet since he's come there have been more and more problems in Newcastle between him and the players.

Possibly because Souness is actually trying to enforce some discipline ?

I like Bobby Robson ,but the rumour amongst my Geordie mates is that although he had a lifetime of football experience behind him ,he was just too old to handle a squad of young and aggressive sports personalities .

That's because Souness is a no nonsense manager. He still tries to utilise old coaching method's by chewing the bollox of player's  and slamming / throwing thing's around at half time. Now day's player's can't handle that :censored:, Lauren Robert is a prime example under Souness.
