Eight players injured and league ain't even kicked

-Zenden[who will be fit by the time we play Boro]
-Crouch
-Kewell

That's really 3 players, Zenden only has a knock and Kewell is always injured so thats nothing new. Where did 8 come from?

Pongolle is already back in training and I can't think of anybody else that you claim is injured.

I am 100% behind our manager but I cannot see how the squad could possibly be stronger, as he keeps on saying. Unless he means that Barragan, Reina, Sissoko Crouch and Zenden would beat Ostembor, Kirkland, Biscan, Nunez and Smicer in an arm wrestling competition. Hmmnn, then again he may be right, smicer would probably lose in an arm wrestling competiton to my 7 month old son, but Crouch's arm is surely too thin for mighty Igor's strength. But, remembering Kirkland's weak back maybe his arm is weak too and Pep Reina would 'ave him. Sissokko is way stronger than Le tellec and Pellegrino together. Sorry, Benitez is right, the squad is def. more stronger than last year.

-Kirkland: loaned out to West Brom
-Biscan: left for Panathiakos
-Nunez: went back to Spain
-Pellegrino: went back to Spain
-Smicer: joined Bordeoux
-La Tallece: loaned out to Sunderland

None of those players are part of our squad.

For SG+the money we made in the CL+our existing player sales and releases and without Crouch, Owen, we could have gotten ALL the following plus our other buys: Adriano+Aimar+Gallas+Figo+Milito+Ballack..work it out!

All those we could had signed because we won the CL? I'm sorry but this is the real world not Championship Manager.

If Chelsea can't sign Adriano what makes you think we can, numpty? Thats 30 million pounds[possibly even more] right there.

Valencia wouldn't let go one of their best players and if they were willing to sell him they wouldn't let him go for anything under 10 million.

I'm sure Chelsea would give a good player to one of their rivals, and for a cheap price as well [/sarcasm]

Add all that together and that would be close to spending 60 million pounds. We won the CL but not all the money we made goes to the transfer market. There's a thing called a "new stadium" that needs money along with other things.

Some valid points:

Thin squad?
For som positions YES. We need two new central defenders, one right back and one if not two right wingers. For other positions NO. We have plenty of strikers and central midfielders. We have enough goalkeepers and left backs. We actually have too many players (or poor quality) for some positions and Diao, Cheyrou, Le Tallec etc haver therefore been loaned out.

Physio?
Maybe Benitez was disappointed with Galley's (injuries!!!) work and maybe a new medical team can reduce injuries? I don't think the loss of a physio should matter anyway.

Players?
Yes we would have been better off with Joaquin and Aimar. Yes we don't need Owen. But don't believe what the papers say. i don't think Benitez will buy a player he doesn't need. Souness would, Benitez won't. And the board will not force Benitez to take a player he doesn't like. He left Valencia because the board signed players without his consent. The board will not force Benitez out of the club like that.
