1) Another huge injury list just as the season is about to start, with the club physio having just left,

2) baros will be sold for less than PC's cost, no matter the fig leaf,

3) Rafa has been forced by the otherwise stingy Board to consider MO when the money could be better spent on someone who would better fit the RB system, like Aimar or Joaquin,

4) we are left complaining about the treatment of Gonzalez (I am gutted too about this, but it shows "2 quality players per position" is a pipe dream),

5) the thinnest injury-free squad in a few years being dressed up as an improvement on last year..

A year ago, talking to friends I warned about only one thing re: the otherwise excellent Benitez, and that was that he had to stand his own ground..instead, he is having his ear bent and "adapting" to the Premier, rather than doing a Wenger or Mourinho and setting the Premier on fire with a new style of (La Liga) technical football..

you're right of course.

its terribly embarassing being european champions. almost as embarassing as having one of the worlds best midfielders pledge the best years of his career to us. equally embarassing is having a manager who is the first for years who look slike he can take LFC back to its rightful place at the top. its almost unbearably embarassing that he continues to be a man of honour and discretion who doesn't need to mold himself on the antics of the other big club managers.

god, i can hardly bear to show my face in public its that bad.

1) Another huge injury list just as the season is about to start, with the club physio having just left,

Huge injury list? Zenden will play next week leaving Dudek and Traore injured. Sinama is back in training, and Kewell? Nothing new about Kewell, he's always injured. Crouch was going to miss the first couple of Premiership games anyways due to suspension.

That's hardly a huge injury list, more like a huge overreaction.

2) baros will be sold for less than PC's cost, no matter the fig leaf,

He had a poor season, he has two years left on his contract so you can't expect him to have a 15 million price tag. We want 7 million for him, that's not bad and we would be making a 4 million profit on him considering how much we paid for him.

) Rafa has been forced by the otherwise stingy Board to consider MO when the money could be better spent on someone who would better fit the RB system, like Aimar or Joaquin,

If you read the article from the Mirror, clairly it says that the money spent on Owen would not ruin Rafa's chances of getting a CB and RM.

Secondly we could never get Joaquin unless Betis decide to lower his price tag by a couple of million pounds.

4) we are left complaining about the treatment of Gonzalez (I am gutted too about this, but it shows "2 quality players per position" is a pipe dream),

We have Riise and Zenden for the LM, and when we sign Gonzalez that will be 3 players for one position. (If Kewell ever sorts himself out then we'll have 4 left wingers)

yeah personally i'm embarassed about istanbul. what a joke we are to english football.

also, our squad is rubbish and our manager should be sacked for not getting joaquin and aimar in the summer and not winning the premiership last year. it's not even as if we had any injuries or anything.

benitez out. i'm off to jump on the chavski bandwagon.

basically, yes.

1) we don't have a huge injury list just a couple of first team players with knocks. we also don't know the full story with the physio situation or who else is there to do the job.

2) around £6 million ain't bad for baros and the fact that rafa is not rushing into offloading him to get a proper price does not suggest we are pushovers in the transfer market.

3) do we really know this for sure? our transfer activity this summer is far from over. its more the lack of available players of proven quality that is the issue here.

4) the gonzalez issue is a f*cker for sure,  but will be sorted eventually. we have at least 2 quality players in most positions. defence is obviously the exception here.

5) thin squad?? are you serious?

6) why am i even putting so much effort into answering this bullsh!t?

just looked at the squad for the game tomorrow, very thin on the left wing with Zenden's injury.Risse left wing Warnock left back Id presume but what if either of those got injured?Would JC be told to play left back again and maybe Warnock play left mid?Definitely need some more cover after the Gonzalez thing didnt go to plan.

Eight players injured and league ain't even kicked off. Players out on loan,i.e Le Tellec and Medjani, not only have we not many new signings but everyone else is injured...Just like last season. It seems to me that we have a small squad.

So what your trying to say is that you doubt our manager?

No he's being restricted in doing his job, if we hadn't pulled off the hugest comeback in football history on that great night in istabul, last season would have been a shocker!

rafa delivered the cl cup to us in his first year. He now has experience of the english game, so i feel we, as a team, will do much better this time around. Rafa is adding his own touch to the side, and getting them playing as a team. Furthermore, our side, as time goes on, will play with more flair (like his old valencia side did), but this takes time. so rather than grumbling you should be applauding Rafa for his autonomous managerial skills.

glory days are very near now, we had a taster in May, and we will be the force again

Sorry for being a realist but

it's starting to look like we are going to start the season with more or less the same squad, due to injury and lack of work permits. Logic would tell you to aquire the work permit first. So again Liverpool seem to have failed in the transfer market for whatever reason, be it they are too tight, just can't figure out who the good players are or noboby wants to come to us. Someone needs to tell the board it quility not quantity that matters. So our great aim for this season I take it is 4th, wow. What ambition from the manager and the board. Rafa is dreaming if he thinks this team of clowns (bar a few) will be anywere near Chelsea, Utd. or Aresnal.

I am really dissapointed about all our summer signings. We were a long shout behind the titlechasers last year. we had a unique possibility to attract good names, and what do we draw from our sleeve: Reina, Sissoko and Crouch in the 7-8 mill mould... Zenden and Gonzales (who cant play for us) on the free front. It doesnt smell like champions stuff. If we are short of cash, why on earth do we splash it on a keeper and a talented midfielder? And I want even start about the basketball player.... We pay over price for him after competeing with absolutely no-one over his signature....For Crouch and Sissoko we could have landed Ballack!!! Our by far best striker. Cisse will be up there... But he can stuff his arrogance a certain place. What kind of behaviour when the Kaunas guy wanted to change shirts after the CL clash? Who the f*** does he think he is??? Clown

I don't think we failed in the transfer market, basically Rafa is shrewd with his money unlike GH who would spend shed loads on complete sh1t3, if you look at his Valencia team it was made up of hardworking players who played for each other and did a job not a team like Real who is made up of super stars and play for themselves.

Rafa has been here 12 months and get us playing a lot better football, also he brought us the CL trophy so give the bloke time as now he knows the way the EPL is played and I'm sure he and his player additions will be used to it
