I wouldn't say he looked a bag of nerves JBG. He seemed to be talking to himself to calm down, but only a little. And don't forget there was a delay, cos Milan were trying to beg the linesman not to send off Gattuso for hauling down Stevie. Alonso still looked pretty cool to me.
ask a Shevchenko or a Maldini to take the very same penalty and I bet they couldn't look any cooler than our Xabi. Man that was a CRUCIAL CRUCIAL kick to get us back on level term (and potentially worth tens of million £), and any mere mortal like us will see our legs goes rubbery to even be able to step up to the spot.

yeah...a lucky team who beat the champion of England and Italy in successive games (over two legs I must stress), and who came back from 3 goals down to beat the star studded Milan?
Tell me which team on this planet are capable of doing just that? Real? Barca? Inter? Arsenal? or a ManU? freakin' ell, the Bluenose will shame themselves in this competition next season
they will do themselves a world of good to step aside and compete in a lower competition

cool Alonso he was like a gunslinger. I've gotta feeling that fella was gonna put himself forward for the possible crunch pen. after all, he stood forward to take the pen to equalise during the game. What a bloke to have on your side.
