Tsunami game sunday. - Current squad should watch legends go!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Iceman69 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 11:48 pm

Just got my tickets for the Tsunami Disaster charity game on Sunday as Liverpool's Legends take on a celebrity team.
Kop end, first time I've ever sat there as I normally sit in the Centenery stand, but nearly sold out!

Surprised though that the Anfield Road end is completely closed for the game though, as they werent expecting to sell out!

Maybe if the current squad are watching, maybe they can pick up a few tips from the likes of John Barnes, Alan Kennedy, Aldo, Rushie, Ablett, Dalgish, Keegan, Gillespie, Whelan etc who I saw training today for the big Sunday match!

Not sure who's in the celebrity line up yet! Probably half the cast of Hollyoaks! Can't wait though and it's nearly sold out!

Hopefully a bit of barnes magic will show.

Anyone else going? or know of any other people taking part that I havent mentioned? Kick off 4:05pm, but some entertainment beforehand I've heard.

See you there!

true, as john barnes has got a jan molby gut on him. heard he's bin going down the gym though.

Dont know whether stevie g will make an appearance, Ive heard theres 50 players taking part, Harry redknapp managing the celebs, and Roy evans in charge of the old timers.

still kick off team might be:

          Grobelaar.

P.Neal   Gillespie  Ablett   A.Kennedy.

Stevie G  Whelan Dalglish  Barnes

      Aldo      Rush

Hows that for a team in their heyday?

With each player at their peak that would give anyteam in history a run for their money!  Even the 1974 Dutch team (who i consider the greatest single team in history even though they lost the final) would be hard pressed to come up trumps against them

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
