Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I can see Morientes and Baros tearing their back four to shreds. Hopefully the players will be up for it and play well.

i cant see why liv cant thrash them. Sou cant even play properly against newcastle.
Same with Woof, I'd go for warnock and risse on the left..think warnock can offer the extra attacking edge Traore lacks.
Carra on the right and Pelle partner Hyppia
Code: Select all
           Dudek
Carra Hyppia Pelle Warnock

Finnan Biscan SG  Risse

I don't know about Biscan, after his poor display against Burnley he seem's hopeless again but we have to work with what we have so who knows whose going to start.

would like a win but a draw would not be a bad result....wait hear me out.

Head says :
After the win against WBA, we have been sort of average (against, norwich, southamption, watford, fcuking scums). We will have to raise our game if we are gonna beat southampton. Another average game from us, and it will be most likely a draw.

Heart says :
Saying that, Lets just thrash the saints  :D

                            Dudek
          Finnan   Carra    Hyppia   Warnock
             Garcia    Hamann Gerrard  Riise
who else will u play as striker ...duh

Its about time, to give warnock a run of games. As good as traore has been this season, he is not the type of full-back we want. Warnock can defend, is robust and can put in good crosses (esp with his left leg). Traore on the other hand can defend, is clumsy and put in ok crosses with his right leg. Whenever he brings the ball to his right leg, it slows down the attack.

oh..and yes, willing to give garicia more games. Maybe gerrard should play in the right and garcia in the centre with hamann...... i let rafa decide that   :p

In your "Take out the Garbage" thread (jan 18th) you say "he's not good enough for lfc " and you then go on to call him a "muppet" . If this is your honest opinion why have you picked Traore to play against Southampton .

???   ???   ???

Despite the fact that I don't think he's good enough, Benitez is patient and will probably will use Traore anyways. i.e. Kewell was poor from the start of this season but Benitez kept on starting him and eventually Kewell started playing better, too bad he's injured as he looked that he was slowly regaining his old form.

This line up was YOUR selection not the one you think Rafa will use (you showwhat you think will be Rafa's possible line up later in the thread)
So once again, why pick Traore when you think he's such a "muppet "  ???   ???   ???

Gerrard worry for Reds

Steven Gerrard is a major Liverpool doubt for the Premiership trip to Southampton with a thigh injury that has been troubling him all week, and it has now emerged would have ruled him out of the FA Cup defeat at Burnley.

Benitez has Spanish defender Josemi close to a return after his ankle problems, while new signing Scott Carson - a £750,000 capture from Leeds - will be on the bench as back-up goalkeeper to Jerzy Dudek.

Fernando Morientes and Mauricio Pellegrino, both not signed in time to play at Burnley, are also added to the squad.

Benitez is still without long term injured players Steve Finnan, Djibril Cisse, Xabi Alonso, Harry Kewell, Vladimir Smicer and Chris Kirkland. He is also missing winger Antonio Nunez who is starting a three-match suspension.

Liverpool (from): Dudek, Carragher, Pellegrino, Hyypia, Traore, Garcia, Hamann, Gerrard, Biscan, Warnock, Josemi, Welsh, Baros, Sinama-Pongolle, Morientes, Mellor, Carson, Riise, Potter.

The ironic thing is, for once, Jamie Redknapp isn't on a club's injury list..
