I think Benitez needs to take a good long look at the squad. There are too many plays who do not cut the grade. We, as fans, desire and demand, a team that is capable of challenging on numerous fronts, FA Cup, Premiership and Champions League. To do this we need a large squad of quality players, who are all capable of interchanging and playing at all levels.

We could hardly play Biscan, Potter, Warnock, Whitbread, Traore, etc in the Champions League, and expect to win. Don't get me wrong, I still believe in the youngsters, but with the injuries we've had, we need a larger squad to cope, without relying on them.

So we have reached a crossroads. On the one hand we have new investment from the US, and the ability to purchase these new squad members. But on the other, is status quo, and the inevitable lack of funds to challenge, Chelsea, Man U, and Arsenal, on the domestic front; and the likes of Real Madrid in Europe.

Will someone please help Benitez out!

i don't want to slag benitez off, BUT... i agree he should have played the youngsters but he should have had hamman and gerrard on the bench in case of emergencies

look i will lay it out for you . i will say that rafa is wrong for the club till he show that i am wrong , you all know i have been saying it from the day he come to the club .
so far he has got some things right but a lot wrong and he has not had much luck but i still dont think he is the right man.
