Agreed Zara, yeah ok we lost to the shit3 but the season is about more games than just Man U and Everton, we need to keep the team spirit and get off players backs, it's not just Garcia but 10 other players in the team

I was trying to say pretty much the samething Paul but you know how hard it is to be pragmatic when we have suffered a loss of any kind never mind against the Mancs !!!

Woof woof tried to drown his sorrows and went off on one. he later apologised and said he was frustrated.

couldn't agree more Ian, to try and make scapegoats is unfair when the whole team put in a less than average performance.

Yes Dudek, should have saved the Rooney goal - but it's not his fault we lost the match, we simply weren't good enough on the day to get an equaliser.

On Garcia, I think he played OK against Manure, but he definately needs to realise he is playing in England now and that he needs to work on the basics of his game and his physical attributes.

Thanks Scott. Seems to me that perspective and rationale go out the window when we lose. i suppose its the nature of the beast but a few on here last night showed how little they think and how much they react ???

I firmly believe however that in time (probably next season) he will be a fantastic player for us, I really do.

agree with you ther mick. Even when garcia has a bad game he still shows glimpses of great skill and ability, i reckon this time next year we will have a great player on our hands. He needs to stop wasting possesion though, and cut down on the spectacular efforts also, when he did that volley late on in the game Baros was unmarked in the box.

I really think Baros has had enough of Garcia - he was screaming at him on several occassions on saturday.

I've had enough of Gerrard's comments. First he put extreme amount of pressure on himself and the club before the Olympiacos game then he said that we should play good against Man Utd, he himself couldn't put a pass together.

If Garcia has passed to Morientes, instead of having his own speculative shot charged down - the whole game would have been different.

He is a liability against the big teams. He has only come good against lower opposition, who we could have beaten without him, anyway.

Garcia was very frustrating against the Scum - but to start calling for his head and saying he is B*llocks etc etc is a bit steep.
As other people have said - football is a team game - so we can't label all the blame for the defeat with him or Dudek.
I for one think he's got the potential to be an extremely deadly player in the PL - I just hope Rafa can get the best out of him and he doesn't end up another failed statstic who promised so much but once again failed to deliver.
Let's give him some more time.
On a further note against the Scum - I was more concerned with some of the other players Performances (especially in midfield)
Gerrard & Hamman were made to look ordinary (and that doesn't happen very often)
Carra was ok - but you can see the difference in how good he is when at Centre back instead of a right back
He never knows how to come forward or cross the ball - it's always side to side
Whereas - at Centreback - he's fully in control - and plays the simple ball - a totally different player
The only one who looked like scoring for me was Riise - and he was fouled out the game !
All in all - a poor performance
Perhaps it should have been a draw (Jerzy's mistake) - but we didn't deserve one.

I have been a critic of Garcia this season. I have even advocated dropping him from the side. In a 4-4-2 system, presuming baros and morientes are going to be the front two, i just can't see him fitting into the system. he is not a wide right midfield player. to me, for the obvious talent the guy has, his insistence on showboating and questionable application is so frustrating for fans at times.

Garcia played one ball against the scum that he should try more often. Remember the one he played over the defence from about 25 yards out that Morientes got a head to in the first half? If he does that more with Morientes sniffing around in the box, there'll be a few extra goals scored for us. He certainly gets in the positions. I think he just gets a rush of blood to the head. With some of the real good chances he's missed this season, he could be on 10 goals already. Give him time, he'll come good. Nunez is improving too. The crossing is coming on quite well.
