he drank sangria, he came from barca to bring us joy (or glory, or to liverpool depending which verison you like). he's five foot seven, he was football heaven, and i was a little sad when they took our luis away.

always loved this little fella, god knows why. maybe it was the hairband. i guess now he'll take up his dream of being the next james bond in the moving pictures industry. good luck to him.

rumour has it that his thumb was actually hollow with a hinged thumbnail, and when he scored he celebrated by sucking performance enhancing drugs out of it. sadly they never really worked.

He could be a bit frustrating at times but we certainly wouldn't have won the CL without his goals during that 04-05 campaign that's for sure. Thanks for the memories Luis and all the best for the future mate.

It's actually quite scary how quickly time fly's as you get older, that CL campaign seems about 3 or4 years ago to me, unbelievable to think that is was practically a decade ago!

Are you sure he has retired , Chelsea fans are claiming he hasn't completely crossed into the retirement line ?

Players capable of being frustratingly wasteful and then balancing it with moments of unpredictable brilliance ,are the reason I love supporting this club.

Cheers  Luis  :buttrock  :buttrock

Gerrard often takes a lot of the plaudits for 'single handedly' dragging us to victory but Garcia was deffo the unsung hero of that CL campaign. He scored 5 crucial goals in the knockout phase (in fact he scored in every round of the knockout phase) which took some doing because people tend to forget that at the time Leverkusen were the German champions, Juventus the Italian champions and Chelsea had won the title here too.
That Juventus team alone included the likes of Buffon, cannavaro, thuram, zambrotta, nedved, del piero, treseguet and Zlatan, it really was a magnificent effort by rafa and the lads.
