Striker Anthony Le Tallec says he is ready to return to Liverpool to ease Rafael Benitez's attacking crisis.

The 20-year-old joined St Etienne on a year-long loan in August but Liverpool have lost Djibril Cisse for the season and Milan Baros to a hamstring injury.

"Liverpool is my club. I am the one who asked to leave. But should they need me, there is no problem," Le Tallec told French newspaper L'Equipe.

He added: "I'd be a bit bothered to leave like this but if needed I'd go."

Le Tallec joined Liverpool in June 2002 from Le Havre and made 23 appearances for the Reds last season.

I would be favourable to Le Tallec and if needed, Allou Diarra, returning to the club in January.

Given the injuries we have experienced and Harry Kewell's awful form, having Bruno Cheyrou back as well isn't as outlandish as you might think.

How has La Tallec been doing at St Etienne ?
I agree , given the size of our injury list (and we still have 70% of the season to go) it wouldn't suprise me if Rafa decided to have a look at all our players out on loan (except maybe Diouff  :D )

Definitely agree about Cheyrou. He's on our books, and he's potentially a better bet than someone we've got flailing about in our first team.

To be honest, I wouldn't be averse to Diouf coming back. He's been playing pretty well for Bolton, and I can see him p*ssing defenders off to the point that we win free kicks in the kind of areas that Alonso and Riise would really appreciate. It's not always pretty to watch him barking orders at the ref and going down easily, but when we're down in the mud, I'd happily turn a blind eye to playing dirty, in the short term at least.

And let's be completely honest about Cheyrou and Diouf - however disappointing they may have been, they probably had more good games for us than Harry and Igor did last season. Igor's repaid the faith Rafa's had in him, and I'd like to see if Bruno and El-Hadji could as well. Lord knows it'd be good to get some kind of value out of them before they inevitably get moved on.

Good attitude from Le Tallec.  I'd like to see him back at the club for another chance.

On another note, since coming back from Bolton on my FM2005, Diouf has been sensational for me.  Not sure about real life though

Its fair to say that Le Tallac would help us right now but hes certainly changed his tune. As I understand it Benitez did not want him to leave, however he was unwilling to fight for his spot and chose to jump ship. It now seems that he wishes to return given that his chances of playing are increased as players fall injurered left and right. Up until now we have heard nothing from him. It remains to be seen if Benitez is willing to give the guy a second chance when it appears he only wants to be at the club when it suits him.

In my opinion, La Tellac should have stayed & pongolle should have gone on loan in the 1st place.

Pongolle should improve  his composure & 1st touch before he can make it at this level. On the other hand, La Tellac seems to possess these traits which is esssential at this level.

Get them all back! Why not?!

I always wanted to see Diouf play up front regular for us, not sure about ALT or Bruno being a lot of help but if Garcia is out for any longer they'd at least be another option

More then happy to see ALT return and i think return of Bruno isnt a bad idea either.
I draw the line on Diouff though, he can stay at Bolton with his attitude and his saliva

If a player is on a seasons loan, can we recall them at anytime or do we have to wait until the transfer window??

Not too sure, I think it depends on the loan terms agreed between the two clubs when the deal was made whether the player can be recalled at will

The reason Le Tallec wanted to leave was because he wanted the chance to play first team football in order to aid his development. Last season he accepted playing in the reserves and making substitute appearances but he wanted to take the nest step and play regularly. Even though it hasn’t turned out that way I support his stance.

I think most fans agree that he has the making of a top player, he has superb technique, a quick footballing brain, he can score and create goals, and he is fairly strong. Personally I would love to see him come back to Anfield, if we play hi upfront with Pongolle it could be very productive, they like playing alongside each other and already have an underrating, bring him back I say.

I would not like to see Diouf or Cheyrou return, and god knows why we would need Diarra back with all the central midfielder we already have at the club.

Heard that Diarra can play centreback too.

Whenever I have seen him play he has played in central midfield. That’s where he has played for all his French league sides and the national side.

If you remember Diao and Biscan were also supposedly able to play at centre back, and we all know what happened there.
