wolves v LIVERPOOL FA Cup 5th Round Fri 6th Mar 8.00pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Fri Mar 06, 2026 11:34 am

To be fair in the position we are in if we had to lose either of these 2 back-to-back games against Wolves the league game would be the one to lose. We are not in the title race and  we can recover in terms of finishing in the top 5, you cant recover from being knocked out the cup. As it so happens United and Villa lost as well so the damage wasnt that bad.
We need to win this one though, the next round after tonights is the Quarter Finals and the Semi's are at Wembley so win tonight and we are getting close.,

Disappointed to see both Gakpo and Salah starting this. It just feels like he was under pressure to start Ngomoha but couldn't bring himself to drop Cody so he benched Etitike instead.

We are so depressing to watch.

2-0 Salah, Robbo assist.

Thought there was no VAR in this competition.

No coincidence that we look better in defence with Gomez and Robbo in the side.

Why do both Curtis and Macca both go outwide everytime we are on the attack? Rio, and Salah are both there for options, why are they overloading for no reason?

It gives us no options in the middle of the park. Im not blaming either, its obviously a tactical thing we are working on.. but it makes zero sense.

Good win btw. I thought Rio and Robbo were brilliant tonight.

Nice to see Rio play so well and both Wirtz and Frimpong return from injury.

Good win. Should have done that on Tuesday night in fairness.

Delighted for Rio. Played great and went past more players last night than Gakpo has done in 3 years. Causes so much problems for defences. Robbo played well also Gomez. We defended much better.  I do think Van Dijk got a knock as he looked to be hobbling a bit before he was taken off.

Anyway on to the quarters we go  :buttrock

It's criminal that Robbo isn't getting more game time. Yes he was the weak link last season in a title winning side, but he's still more than capable of playing in a team that's struggling to get into the top 5, which is currently us. Hope he starts again on Tuesday, we'll need his experience in Turkey.

Rio also should start more often as he looks like the only winger we currently have capable of taking players one on one.

FA Cup quarter-final draw in full
Southampton v Arsenal

Chelsea v Port Vale

Manchester City v Liverpool

West Ham United or Brentford v Leeds United

Couldn't have had a worse draw. When it's not going well even luck is against you.

Hate to be negative before a ball is kicked but i think we are as good as out, for whatever reason we just do not seem to turn up at the Etihad anymore, its like the players dont want to know. .
Arsenal away or City at home i would have given us a fighting chance but City away? Itt will be the usual 3 or 4 nil capitulation.

I’ve already come to terms with the fact we’re winning feck all this season.

Personally, I think it’ll take a small miracle for us to get CL football next season.

With a corresponding impact on the club accounts.
