Nice to win, but let’s not kid ourselves - the opposition were not good.

Newcastle and city next. We’ll do well to get a draw in these games, but I’m expecting losses.

Hope I’m wrong.

Just reading today about his post-match comments, saying how well we're progressing in the CL, considering we were playing in the Europa League just two seasons ago and losing to Atalanta  :Oo: . Was that really necessary to say? How is one season in the Europa League even relevant? Seems like a comment made purely out of spite, I see no other reason for him to say that. He's clearly not taking justified criticism from fans that well and wants to get back at his critics with such comments. Don't know why he'd want to anger his own fans, you're always certain to lose if you get in a conflict with the fanbase.

Good win and for that Slot must get credit, however, they were League 2 level at best and we dispatched them like we should.
The barcodes at the weekend and then Shitty will provide more tougher oppo and no doubt we'll be back to dire boring footie trying not to lose, but probably losing both

He probably didnt mean it to sound how it did, i think foreigners in particular need to be cut a bit of slack anytime someone shoves a microphone under their noses but that goes for anyone really, we cant really accuse them of being media trained robots one minute then jump down their throats anytime they wander slightly off piste the next. To be fair to Arne for all his faults he's honest and modest and seems to prefer playing things down rather than throwing sly digs about. In terms of character and personality i havent really got a problem with him, its the 10 losses before the end of January, the sh.1t load of draws and slow ar,se style of footy i dont like.

Hes dumbing things down because hes under pressure. Comments like that and 2 titles in 30 years is him trying to wash expectations which is a bad move imo. It doesnt have anything to do with language either as he speaks perfect english and knows fine well what hes saying.

Fair enough we have had the odd bad year but we are a CL side and thats what he inherited. Transition is another thing he will hide behind but i agree 100% with Nevilles comments the other day. Its not transition when you win a league and then spend 450 million, you do that to win back to back titles.

Playing in Europa two seasons ago lol, like as if under Klopp we were regulars in Europa. Should also recall and stretch it a wee further than the last 2 years, he'll get better perspective. How we dominated UCL and reached 3 finals.

Tbh I knew will be Qarabag, real test will be now in EPl and tbh I think we going to either lose or draw New/City.

What do you reckon he meant then mate? He'a mentioning one bad season for no reason and he wasn't even here back then, I can't see how that one season is relevant to anything. Plus he very likely might actually lead us into an EL spot this season himself with one of the most expensive squads in the league!

Rtid above me says he even mentioned 2 titles in 30 years, that's something rival fans say out of bitterness not LFC managers! He came out as a nice bloke to me too at first, he probably is one in his personal life, but recently he's clearly been saying things like this out of spite, taking small digs at the fans and the club.

Fans around us at the game last night still saying under their breath that Slot isn't the man and has to go, but reluctant to see upheaval at the club.
He hasn't convinced the fans, I wonder if he's convinced the players?

He's under pressure mate isnt he? I'm sure we've all said things and done things that we'd consider slightly out of character when someone has been pushing our buttons, i know i certainly have.
To be fair to him he would have been well within his rights to milk last years title win for all that it was worth but he largely played his role in it down which i admired, we are not talking someone who perpetually chats sh.1t like Donald Trump here, granted he's not covering himself in glory with some of the things he's saying atm but if we were 5 points clear at the top i dont even think it gets brought up. Although what he said isn't great we are not talking Peggy Arphaxad giggling at the Hillborough memorial are we?

He say's "we've won two premiership titles in the last 30 years "
What the fk is that about !
What a disrespectful comment to the managers that have gone before  !
I'd remind Slopp that we've won two premiership titles in the last six years  :kungfu:
And both of them were due to Jurgen and one of them was the team he left behind for you to lead.
Since then, sadly for me and many others  (?),  it's been a Sh*t show of gradual decline in style and authority .

So if he has to go who would you replace him with?
My philosophy has always been don't bring me the problem, bring me the solution and the problem is, I don't know anyone to replace him.
I wonder if they've been on the phone to Jurgen asking if he's seen anyone in the Bundersliga?

:D  Love yer Reg but right now I'd recommended Mr's Grimshaw above Slopp.
Don't know if any one in our gang feels the same way as me BUT ! so many times I'm just bored shitless watching us under Slopp.

Exactly Reg, I was saying the same thing before Alonso was available. But now that he is available I'd be tempted to bring him in. It's hard to tell if he'd be any better than Slot though, their playing styles are very similar and many people who may have high expectations of him might end up being disappointed afterwards.

But if Slot finishes outside of a CL spot I'd definitely bring in Alonso. Him or find a way to bring Klopp back.

Am i the only one on here thinking Unai Emery ? He has villa punching well above their weight with an average squad. He plays decent football as well and i think he would do wonders with a bit of backing in the transfer market.
I like Xavi but dont think hed automatically be good just cos hes a former player.
