). So I think the Martinelli thing had something to do with that. What a c.unt of a team Arsenal are and what a c.unt of a manager Arteta is. Can someone tell him when he wears such tight trousers not to bend over like he’s getting one up the rear…. It’s not a good look! As much as I hate City, I’d hate to see Arsenal win the league.Reg » Fri Jan 09, 2026 10:52 am wrote:We took a point, our defence was more secure than in recent games and we played with more confidence. Well done reds.
That said our formation made it crystal clear we weren't trying to actually win the game. Playing Gakpo as the only striker out on the left and Frimpong, a right back in a Mo role on the right isn't exactly inspiring.
We were short of Isak, Mo and Ekitike but we still had 2 strikers on the bench, Chiesa and young Rio. Arsenal used 5 substitutes to maintain their high pressure game, Slot used none until Bradley went off and Big Joe came on for 2 minutes at the end (and remained injury free...). WHY did Slot prefer to keep already spent players on the field when Arsenal threw FIVE fresh players onto the pitch and we had Robbo, Jones, Chiesa all mature first teamers capable of making immediate impacts.
The lads dug in and got a point but I saw ZERO imagination coming from the manager, he left it all to the side.

Efficient without being spectacular is probably the best way to describe it, you're not going to get the goals and assists and indeed the moments the Mo/Trent partnership delivered but all the same it is half decent. Frimpong gets back and Connor gets forward so they help each other out, with us having a dodgy defence a young, energetic, hard working, honest partnership like that down our right hand side is just what the doctor ordered. Connors driving runs and Frimpongs pace does worry teams as well, not exactly prime Mo but defenders cant get their pipe and slippers out either, there is a threat there.
As good as Mo and Trent were lets not foget our rivals saw our right hand side particularly the space behind Trent as our Achilles Heel as well.
