Everton v Liverpool, Wednesday 24th April, KO: 20:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:27 pm

TEAM NEWS

Everton will assess Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who came off with a minor injury against Nottingham Forest last Sunday.

Beto will miss the next two games in line with head injury protocols, while Seamus Coleman is back in training but isn't yet ready to be involved.

Liverpool's Diogo Jota is unavailable after sustaining an injury in the 3-1 victory against Fulham at the weekend.

There are no other fresh injury concerns for Jurgen Klopp's side but Conor Bradley remains unavailable.

---------------------

Jota injury is a huge blow for us, the others need to step up. Derby matches are always unpredictable but this time Everton have survival mission of their own.

Arsenal spanked Chelsea 5-0, their goal difference is completely out of reach 13+.

All we could do is keep on winning, let's make the other 2 sides sweat it till the end.

Arsenal because its not good to see the same team win it every year!! Plus they have been pretty good over the last 2 and a half seasons.

I kinda want City if it's down to the 2. Arsenal fans have mocked us during Klopps era even though we've been so unlucky with only winning 1 PL. It'll be nice for them to suffer the same way we have over the last 6 seasons. If City wins, no one actually cares as we all know they've broken rules and cheated FFP.

I'm sort of on the same boat, as much as I hate City and their financial doping, I'd rather them than Arsenal. When City wins a title it means nothing. I can't stand Arsenal fans, especially the clowns on Aftv and even Arteta. Also like UsV I'd be very disappointed that we missed out when City sort of flopped.

For me anyone to win the league apart from Man Utd and Arsenal. Chelsea are another that I'm not really bothered about.

Footballing wise, City winning it though is terrible for the league.

I kinda want Arsenal to win it a bit more because they'd win it fair and square while Man City represents everything that's wrong with football, but you guys that don't want Arsenal raise some good points as well. Both are bad which ever way you look at it and I'd rather not pick a side I guess. All the more reasons to give it our best until the end.

Ibrahima Konate returns in defence, while Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai come back into midfield at Goodison Park.

Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah are restored in attack, but Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota are absent from the squad.

Liverpool:

Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold.

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Endo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Clark, Danns, Quansah.

Let’s face it this won’t be easy. Everton are fighting for their premiership survival and beating Liverpool is  just about top of the season for them!! We’ve got a strong team, but the most important thing is the three strikers really need to come out firing which has been the reason for some of our failures in recent weeks. Arsenal look incredibly strong. Time for LIVERPOOL to make a statement.

Nunez isn't good enough.

Makes me want weep when I think of our front 3 of Mane, Mo and Bobby.

Nunez does my head in, cant control a pass into the box and when he is put free 5 yards out only the keeper to beat he blasts it right at him.

Last few moments sum up Nunez....so frustrating and it's moments like that which are costly.
