Goals. You're losing 3-1 with 20 minutes to go, only goals count. I don't care about hard work at that stage. Too many Liverpool players work hard but don't score.

I'm slowly coming around to the idea Gakpo should stay. Last few games he's actually put a shift in, made the effort, scored goals.
He's easily streets ahead of Nunez at this stage and will only be helped by a coach who speaks his language.

Also I guess having a coach that is same nationality as him may help next season.

He came good the end of the season and was called up for the Euros. Good for him.

Linked with a swap deal for Diomande by all accounts, player plus cash I assume

Quite a few reports suggest he’s unhappy. I don’t think we’ll stand in his way to leave, but think his wages will be a stumbling block.

He’ll need to take a pay cut to move on, unless he’s going to Saudi

Cody's a great player but not Liverpool standard. Spurs, Villa yes, but when the chips are down with 15 minutes to go you don't bring on Gapko. Where's Divock.

Not surprised at all hes linked with a move as he is the 1st who will struggle under Iraola. The best thing the club can do is get him off the books so with any luck Bayern will come back in for him.

Truth is he has been a way below average signing who failed to make the step up. He's not good enough for Liverpool or imo any team in the Premier league. A lower team would mean more pressure to deliver and he would just end up being an expensive flop.

He signed for us 3 and a half years ago and is contracted till 2030. He's on a base salary of 200k minus performance related bonuses which could bring his weekly pay at 312k per week  We are going to end up loaning him out and picking up some of that wage. Hopefully he has a good WC and we can con some club into paying a decent fee this summer.

Hope he leaves but his departure will leave us with only Isak, Ngumoha and Chiesa as forwards (not counting Ekitike who won't be available for at least half the season, probably more). We'll need to sign like 3 forwards just to replace everyone departing.

There's talk of Nunez coming back on a free, i wouldnt be too upset with a front line of Isak, Diomande, Wirtz, Darwin, Rio and Chiesa. i'd even throw Frimpong in there with that lot too as he's a much better attacker than he is a defender.

I'd take Nunez back to replace Cody, as frustrating as he was, he'll fit Iraola's style of play better.

I’d get rid of Gakpo but not get Nunez, people seem to forget how poor he was in front of goal and how many times goals were chalked off because he was offside. He charged around and caused chaos but that was about it. Klopp at his best had two pacy wingers and a 9 that glued it all together, Nunez is none of those. If we used Wirtz in the Firmino role then we need a pacy winger either side of him. We need a world class replacement for Salah and we can see how Rio does on the left.

I agree with kazza, we're forgetting how frustrating and useless in front of goal Nunez was, there's a reason we sold him. Having said that, I'd still have him back for free and if he doesn't demand high wages, maninly because he was good at pressing. This season we conceded a lot of goals not because of the back 4 but because players in front of them weren't pressing and working hard enough. Nunez will help immenesly with that IMO.
