Newcastle vs Liverpool 30/04 12:30 ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Sat Apr 30, 2022 4:16 am

This will be a tough one as these lot have been on a good run since entering their riches.

I feel this weekend will be an interesting, which could potentially decide the title fate.
City have got Leeds away who are desperate for points and it is a game in-between Real. Pep will also have his mind on the 2nd leg so it will be interesting to see how things go for them.

Crucial from us, we snap 3 points and pressure will be on them.

Although they have been on a good run their matches have been close, they haven’t done so well against top six clubs. I think it will be a tight affair but we should still get a comfortable win. I like Leeds chances to take a point from city, they seem better now with their new manager. Also Kalvin Phillips should be playing and they are much better when he does.

These are all must win games. But I think the matches where we play before City are extra important as going top adds that little bit more pressure.

Hoping for a convincing win from the boys. I think we'll see some squad rotation too.

City had a hard game against Madrid, let's hope it affects their performance against Leeds.

Newcastle will not be easy. 6 home wins in a row !! Better record than City in 2022 which is a worry. Not overly impressed with our midfield selection. Hendo, Milly and Naby have never really worked. Plenty on the bench if we need to change. Vital that we don’t let Newcastle get a decent start.

So far so good, great goal by Keita and it was never a foul by Milner. We missed a couple of good chances that we need to put away to be more comfortable as they feel like they could nick a goal. Need another goal to put the match to bed.

Great win from a difficult fixture and never looked in any real danger but I thought our finishing was off today, I sense a bit of snatching at chances, the pressure on the guys must be immense.

I think pressure and those Saturday 12:30 games are always awkward especially that we played the second best form team at theirs as they had zero pressure on them. Overall we won a very tough fixture considering. I thought defensively we were outstanding constantly snuffing out their chances. Hopefully they will get a result at the Etihad as they are a decent team now. Would the second best form team with no pressure on them lose two matches in a row? Hopefully not.

Phew, was always going to be a bit tense, so soon after Villareal neccesitating a lot of rotation but we got it done again. It's quite hard to believe how many games us and City win, I've never seen anything like it really. I generally don't watch City as they nearly always win but I think I'll keep an eye on tonights game. I'm in Copenhagen next week and I've just seen the game is at the weird time of 745pm, that is not good for me.

Well that was easier than I thought it was going to be especially with so many changes to the team. Our pressing game is nothing short of frightening. Opponents simply are given zero time on the ball until we regain possession. Newcastle had 6 shots with 2 on target and considering their 2022 form we did brilliantly to keep them so quiet. Milly was on a mission. Gomez was very good once again at right back. Nabby has really come to life and scored a very cool goal. Excellent team performance. Always in total control. The thing that frightened me more than anything was the quality of our bench. Seeing Thiago,Trent,Fab,Mo and Konate sitting in a row was a sight to behold !!

That was a terrific win, as already mentioned Newcastle are third in the form table and have won their last 6 at home, to go into their back yard with a weakened side and come away with the 3 points especially with the sword of Damocles in the form of a possible failed title and quadruple bid dangling above our heads really took some doing.
Magnificent effort from the lads.
