Liverpool Football Club - Games

Looks like a triple sub coming up. Hendo, Diaz and keita. Not sure this game is the type to be bringing naby into so hopefully he proves me wrong.

2-0 at San Siro against Inter or Milan is always a good score

Tough game. But we were clinical and get a big result.

Diaz looks like a star in the making and Bobby shows why he's still a key player. But I was really impressed with Konate - we've not lost a game when he starts, apparently.

Really a tough match where a draw wouldn't have been a bad result at all but the victory by 2 goals is obviously far better. A shame the away goal rule has been removed, but even without it they still have to score 3 goals at Anfield now to go through. I'd say we did the hard part by winning here, we just need to manage the result at Anfield now, don't need to win or even draw that match.

That triple sub made all the difference. Don't know if playing against Burnley in tough conditions on Sunday took a bit out of the legs but Inter just seemed a little sharper all over the pitch until we made the subs. CBs were superb again. We gave the ball away cheaply quite often but Henderson and Keita helped us regain some control.

That was a really tough game and much more than what I expected from them.  Think in the end they out possessed and out passed us but just hadn't the steam to keep it up for 90 minutes. They got stuck in as well and did win most of the battles and 50/50's.  At one point I was hoping we would hold on for the draw.

Van Dijk MOM for me. He was excellent and Konate alongside him. Trent was a bit off and it looked like the Afcon caught up with the lads but overall it was a good solid team performance. Scratched the head at 1 or 2 subs but in the end it helped us keep the pace up till the errors began to creep into their play.

All in all though it was a really good game.

Tough night in Italy. Ten minutes into the second half I would have happily taken a draw. Brilliant corner from Robbo for Bobby to score from. That’s the frustrating thing about Bobby, he  always has the ability to come up with the odd piece of brilliance. And then Mo scores somewhat fortuitously through the eye of a needle. VVD and Konate are a special unit. Konate impresses me with his speed considering he’s the size of a small tanker !! Admittedly Inter were unfortunate not to score a brilliant goal when they hit the bar, having said that we didn’t allow them one single shot on goal. Job done. Our lives have been made a lot easier when we play them at Anfield. Klopp managed the game superbly. The substitutions made a massive difference. Not sure that we would have even got a draw five seasons ago against an Inter side of that quality. I really don’t know what Liverpool have to do to persuade Klopp to stay with us after 2024 but one thing is for certain they need to move heaven and earth !! If he is not the best manager in Europe then I really don’t know who is? What he has achieved with extremely limited net funds is incredible.

They had us on the back foot for periods and Robbo/TAA had to stop pressing so high but what a superbly balanced team, each player rose to the occasion. VVD and Konate were superb. Taken from La Gazetta dello Sport this morning: 'Liverpool have a more complete team, better individual class, more international experience, ability to manage matches and seize the moment. To summarize in a simple way: Liverpool are much stronger than Inter.'

Well done Reds!

A good win after a very tough game, the unlikely scores from two players after mostly had a poor game, the bright matter that VVD and Konate partnership looking very strong and much better than VVD & Matip!

Good Luck Lads
