Liverpool Football Club - Games

Job done...no 8/8 and Klopp won't be too happy but we were also unlucky with Joel (bar) and Mo (post x2) Inter were game and we are safely thru to QF #lfg

We're through to the next round that's all that matters but not happy we lost at home. We were a bit unlucky with the perfect hattrick (right post, left post, bar) but still I thought we should have drawn at least. But, again, we're through to the next round and we don't even have time to rest nor celebrate, we got Brighton away up next.

Don't matter how many times we hit posts or crossbars as they are still misses. 1st half we were holding our own but they started getting into it in the 2nd until the sending off. After that it was just too big of a task for them. Delighted Sanchez got sent off as well cos he was leaving the foot in with studs on more than one occasion. Think he was cracking up cos of the stick the crowd was giving him  Hope he gets stick off his team mates as well for costing them any chance of getting a result.

Anyway quarter finals next  :buttrock

Well we weren't going to get through the rest of the season without a loss so lets hope that was it. I think Mo needs a rest, the African Nations is catching up with him.

Inter Milan had one meaningful shot on target which resulted in a brilliant goal. It literally summed up our luck. We hit the woodwork 3 times and suffered a goal line clearance. Mo was very unlucky not to score. Joel was ridiculously unlucky. The ref made numerous indifferent decisions which certainly didn’t help. Shame that we lost but at least we are through. We move one.

Too many very average performances, Mane, Jota, Jones, Robbo, Thiago etc..  Think we were going through the motions really.

Being 2-0 up allowed complacency to creep in. We were so off key in the first half. Thankfully we were much better in 2nd half. We hit the woodwork 3 times and Vidal made an amazing block to deny Diaz. So we were a little unlucky not to win that in the end. In to the quarter finals for the 4th consecutive season.

As others have mentioned the important thing is that we are in the hat for the next round, no one remembers that we lost to Gratz back in 2005 mainly because over the 2 legs we progressed through so I wouldn't worry too much about us losing.
I think id be starting every important game with Diaz in my line up from now on though, we definitely look a better side with him in the team.

Good news for us imo, don't get me wrong neither side would be easy to beat but I'd fancy our chances more against Madrid than I would PSG.
I suspect the winner now will come from either City, Bayern or us. Before last night I probably would have included PSG in that group.

Real Madrid have an impressive CL title winning record. PSG don’t !! I’d prefer to keep away from RM for as long as possible.
