I don't know how many times we've said this game is a must win but this one really is.

Imo every game really became a must win when we were one point ahead.
I do not buy in to this "we will be under less pressure" if chasing nonsense.

The cold facts are that if City win their last nine games (unlikely but not impossible) we can do naff all about it.

We need a favour from another team(s) and still need to better their results.. the countdown started before the merseyside derby.
We win eight of our last nine I reckon we do it - any less and it's city's I think.

Every game like a cup final now...I can't see City dropping too many points, but we have to be there to capitalise if they do.

A win here. No excuses.          As for the midfield, Id go with

                Wjnaldum              Fabinho
                                  Keita

Its wise to leave Milner and Hendo out, after the recent debacles.

Agree with that midfield but also like the idea of a 4 -2-3 1

                  Allison

TAA        Matip   VVD    Robbo

            Gini        Fab (both holding)

  Salah            Keita        Mane

                   Firminho

I wouldn't be averse to having Salah up front and Shaq on the right wing with Bobby on the bench - he has  looked off form for a while.

Wouldnt surprise me if Milner, Hendo and even Lallana got a game, Klopp can be funny like that sometimes especially if he thinks players have been unfairly criticised.

Burnley will park the bus and play physical, maybe Hendo and Milner should play as they can play that game better. Most important is the forwards show up and take their chances.

So the solution for parking the bus is bringing our own bus? Interesting...Klopp might still go for it..seems he likes the idea of physical MF which can't score or pass assists....

Looks like Grujic is doing really well in Germany, his manager at Hertha is comparing him to Stefan Effenberg which is high praise indeed, in fact according to press reports over there 10 clubs want to sign him including Bayern.
Maybe a CM pairing of Grujic and Fabinho would allow us to play an AM without losing control of the midfield? Both of them are tall lads which would make us a very imposing side physically which is no bad thing in this country.
It's a pity we couldn't recall him now.

Keita and Firmino back in for this one hopefully. Klopp has said that when he considers a line up for a game he has to consider the previous game, the game in question, and the next game (if it comes around quickly). I think given the circumstances he’ll ignore the next game until Sunday night. 2 league wins before the international break is vital.

We all know what Burnley will do and we’ll need our fullbacks to be on top form in the opposition half in order to stretch them and create chances. Could also do with a repeat of Keita’s performance at Turf Moor.

                          Alisson

Trent          Matip          van Dijk         Robertson

                         Fabinho
        Wijnaldum              Keita

Salah                                      Mane
                         Firmino

If he leaves hendo  and Milner out you know what the midfield will be against Bayern

I still feel so deflated after that draw vs. Everton and the realization that we've squandered a 7 point lead that I don't even feel like watching games anymore

This title challenge of ours hasn't been fun for me at all.

What gets me is that against both United and Everton we had the air of a team who were happy to take the draw.
Considering the position we are in there seems to be a distinct lack of urgency. There are only 9 league games left, we haven't won the title in 30 years, just fvcking go for it.

Another defining test coming up.

Opec City v Burnley ? , we'd all be betting our life saving on an Opec City win.

We can win, we should win , not putting any money on this one.

Don't think we'll lose it

But if we want three points

The players really have to show up !!!

Yup all we can do is keep on getting 3 points and stay close to those fekers.

I think we will win this 3-0 comfortably.

City are on the telly later against Watford. To be fair it's the Newcastle's, Palace's, Leicester's and dare I say it, the Watford's that City seem to drop points to, they pretty much brush the bigger teams aside.
If they are going to drop points it will be a run of the mill fixture like this that everyone is expecting them to win.
