Newcastle v LIVERPOOL Sun 1st Oct 4.30 KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Deflating result. With  Coutinho, Mane, Salah and Sturridge out there, I was expecting us to really make inroads against a team who yes are organised very well as you expect them to be under Rafa, but looking at their teamsheet, it's a very ordinary/average side.

The goal conceded was again poor. Matip and Lovren again caught napping at a critical moment. Very disappointing that the between the two of them they couldn't deal with their striker.

It's not unlucky as it's sloppyness on our part at both ends of the field have cost us and we only have ourselves to blame.

On a side note, not often you someone match Mane for pace but Yedlin seemed to hold his own up against him and Sadio didnt get much joy up against him

I'm sorry, but this feel like a lost season already.
If we get some good form we MIGHT reach 4th that is how bad this start has been.

Another awful and disgraceful performance from the nutcase's team, the same system no plan other than A!, 10 points behind the leader, SEASON OVER! Sh*t defence & Keeper our main problem for the last four seasons.
This team will not make top 6 this season as long as the f*cking nutcase of manager still in charge.
Newcastle is a very ordinary team, spurs, the scum, M.City. Arsenal and Chelsea will whip them very easily.

Salah the expensive average player (1 out 6 chances) gets into good positions but he can't convert, therefore he needs many chances before put 1 chance away! in manager's eyes, he is a top striker!  This is the present Liverpool team in the nutshell.
Sturridge is still rusty, and he needs more games to get his sharpness back. Why CAN is dropped? he is much better than the useless   Wijnaldum

I think the next game is against the scum!  It will be another embarrassment!

What happened to our attack man? Last season when our attack didn't work it was because we were shut down by the opposition defending, but now we're missing sitters and wasting opportunities that even the worst of attackers would put away with ease. The wastefulness of this side is beyond believe at the moment. Ironic really, considering we had one of the best attacks in the league not too long ago, and with the same players.

Our attack is just going through a bad patch at the moment. It will come good again soon. It's about confidence and the leaking of stupid goals is causing a negative effect through the whole team. If we hadn't conceded that goal we would probably have won 4 nil

I think teams who challenge for/win titles keep the backdoor shut when they are maybe not firing on cylinders in attack. Unfortunately, when you are as leaky as us defensively, we will always be susceptible to dropping points when things are not coming off attacking wise.

Man Utd, and Tottenham away next. We risk getting whooped, if we don't get our act sorted soon.  Can't wait.. :(

Only West Ham and Crystal Palace have conceded more goals this season. We are joint 3rd along with Watford, Bitters and Leicester. I know the result against City skews things somewhat but we still conceded 5 when it's all said and done. Doesn't make for good reading.

Klopp will be under an incredible amount of pressure should the Manure and Spurs games go against him.

He has to have a word with his strikers to stop rushing their shots when they have clear cut opportunities. Salah and Sturridge just need to practice shooting drills from here on in.

I feel the season is already lost and we will struggle to finish in the top 4. It's a pretty deflating feeling but I should have expected this when we signed f**k all players over summer of note. If we don't bring in Keita and a proper CB in Jan we will finish 6th or worse.

We definitely won't win the league. Champions league will be very difficult to go all the way. Just leaves the FA cup and 4th place!!! Yay

We shouldn't over react, yes it's a disappointing start but there's a long, long way to go yet. Christmas is still a fair way off never mind next May. Just like every other season there will be twists, turns and plenty of momentum swings before it's all over.

Yes you have a point. I remember last season, we started well, were scoring well and up until the end of December when Coutinho got injured, we were in the title race. Hopefully this season it'll be a reverse. We start dodgy, finish strongly. Amen!! :)

Hate to disagree with you Yakka but that's blind faith nonsense.

Manure the red and Manure the blue will both have solid seasons and I can't see them dropping many points. It will be a close battle between these two. Spurs are also incredibly consistent under Pochettino and will probably still be in the title race come March with Kane in blistering form. The only team I think we have any chance of overtaking is Chelsea if they have a few more injuries to key players like Hazard or Morata later on. That's a big IF tho!

Us on the other hand, we will need to pretty much outscore any of our opponents between now and at least January. It just wont happen, we will leak points like crazy and even find it hard to keep pace with those gooners (who are completely rubbish by the way). Blind hope hasn't saved us the past 30 years, and it won't this season either. We all know Klopp f**ked up massively not bringing in a CB and DM when he needed to spend money. To top things off he has continued buying under 25 year olds (as per the FSG mandate) but this time spent a fortune on that donkey Oxlande-Chamberlain. So in other words.....

WE ARE DOING THE EXACT SAME THING WE HAVE DONE FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS

You are insane in the face if you think we are going to get a different result doing the exact same thing.  :no
