Houllier smelling grass - Missing the sound of bouncing balls

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

From the Daily Post :
Ask my wife, Isabel. She knows I live for driving through the gates at the training ground, smelling the grass on the pitch, going into the dressing room and hearing balls bouncing or the boys laughing and chatting.

So Houllier was responsible for turning Melwood into a 'Fun Palace'  What was next 'Lap Dancing Physio's' in the gym :D   :D

Better restrain Jamie Carragher if that happens!

and I'm sure the 10 mil payout helps him deal with his grief. Not to forget that he should now be happy in the knowledge that the "club he loves" may finally start looking like contenders again.

If only everybody who wasn't up their job could get a few million quid the world would be much better.

In the Houllier era, who would have been incharge of smelling grass ?   Robbie Fowler or Steve McManaman?
How about ''Ball Bouncing''    ?
As JBG says Carra for looking after the ''Lap Dancers'' ?
What skills did the others have ?

A few million pay out for screwing our club.  I saw him on t.v. last week and he looked very fresh.....no wonder with a healthy bank balance.

I know it looks really bad but Houllier being paid to go is not unusual in football.

I honestly think Houllier was very passionate about the club and was determined to make things better and certainly did not want to go when he was asked. I think that despite keeping quiet about what went on since he left he is very bitter and disapointed about being let go and in some respects, from his point of view, he would have felt that he was entitled to be paid the balance of his salary given that he was forced out.

I don't think he was being greedy as I think that Houllier would have almost have worked for free this season if he was given one last chance to turn things around. However, the risk of allowing this to happen was too great and Parry and Moores had to pay him off in order to bring about the change they wanted. I don't think Houllier is to blame as it is standard practice, I'd point more fingers at Parry/Moores.

All i can say is i bet Houllier feels pretty sick seeing the likes of Biscan and Finnan etc performing the way he wanted them to.

When Houllier took sole charge of Liverpool, Liverpool in my view were looking good and were more of a challenge to the premiership than we are now.

The downfall was when he took bad at the Leeds match, I honestly thing that if Houllier had not of taken bad he would be still the manager of Liverpool and we would be a challenge to Arsenal and Chelsea.

I'm not saying we were wrong to get rid of Houllier, but I don't thing he was greedy by having his contract paid up. From his POV he was hired on a contract, wanted to stay and finish the job, but his employers wanted rid of him against his will and the only legimate way they could do that was to pay him off.

If its in his contract he is entitled to and will and did take it. The Liverpool board gave him the deal and agreed to this crazy pay off when they took him on. You want rid of a guy who is not up to scratch but must pay him 10 million to leave. What a deal Houllier struck there. Probably the best piece of business he did during his time at the club  :)

Houllier DID NOT get 10million to leave.

The 10 million figure is made up of the monies paid to sever Houllier's and all his background staff's contracts, and also monies were paid to Emile Heskey, Danny Murphy and others.
