Come on people , WHO believed at half time we were going to score 3 times (Total Goals scored in the Group games put together) and secure a famous victory ? :p

I am being honest here and believed for the 2nd time in a fortnight (Arsenal being the first) we would not win this game. I am happy to be proved wrong obviously , I suppose I wasn't so stupid as to put it in as a post on this thread like Banana and others LOL

"Kop Kid" was either Brave or stupid (You decide Which) with his half time evaluation but to be fair he wasn't far wrong was he.

Anyway as they say in football thats all academic now and we march on into the final 16 and I fancy us against anyone over 2 legs.....

Walk on ...........

.. too true I heard Monaco's goal go in.. and then went on to teletext later on expecting to see a headline of "Liverpool Cracsh Out " and low and behold... we did it...

.. Baros bak from injury.. Nunez preety new and well .. did not hold much hope.. hey but sooooooo glad we got thru ..

... and Bob u leave that Banana alone..  :p

That banana completely dismissed Mellor as nowhere near good enough to play for despite nobody claiming he is a world beater.

Mellor came up with the goods yet again in a huge game and was my MOM as we were labouring when he scored and he also set up Gerrard with a great little knockdown.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

I don't normally like saying this but Banana and Kop Kid were totally out of order.

I mean, every single one of us were dispairing at half time, but when the game is on and the lads were out killing themselves on the pitch (which every single one of them did tonight) you SUPPORT the team. Criticism and repercussions should be confined to after the match either in the pub or on places like this. When the team is playing, people should SUPPORT the team, not slate them, as that is what SUPPORTING is all about!  ???

BTW banana, did you actually watch the game? Hyppia had one or two dodgy moments mid way through the first half but he was extremely good for the majority of the game. His towering header that set up an attack in the first half and his crossfield ball to Kewell in the second half were out of this world.

As I said in AB's thread it cannot be denied that it was scrappy at times and our perfromance was very rough andready, but we showed heart, spirit and team work tonight, and that was what was most satisfying of all!

Banana, you really need to assess whether or not your heart is in Liverpool. I gave the side a major slagging after the Boro game but even though they were dreadful in that match, I kept supporting them and encouraging them while the match was still on, and held on to my criticism until afdter the match.

completly agree, Banana's comments are unbelievable especially considering they were made during the match! what kind of supporter are you?

He sounds like that cvnt dunphy on rte who at half time said we had no chance of a comeback.

He was devastated after the game and tried to say we are a club on the slide and will be an easy draw for any team.

It was all down to the greeks collapsing and gave us no credit at all.

That coming from a know nothing alcoholic who goes around kissing and groping bouncers.

i think mellor still has alot to prove though, its a good start and im glad hes getting a good chance now, but until hes a regular it'll be difficult

Full of a cold mate but to be honest my wallet couldn't stretch to another game and I wouldn't have been there anyway ..........

Listening on my headphones to the local Radio Station in Liverpool (City) and Aldridge was summarising , when the 3rd goal went in he went mental !!!!!! :D

Once a red, Always a red !!!!!

I appreciate that a few fans went on record saying we could win , my point was at half time a lot didn't thats all amte but what a night to be a red !!

We were very rough about the edges tonight Daglish, a lot of sloppy and indisciplined play and too many balls to no where (Gerrard being the most guilty.....his tackle on the Greek player was shocking, both in its violence and petulance...petulant in that there was simply no need for it).

However, the spirit, drive, soul and team work evoked memories of the old days.  :)
