NUNEZ REVEALS STRIKING DREAM

Antonio Nunez today revealed he'd love the chance to fill the void left by Djibril Cisse and play alongside Milan Baros in the Liverpool attack.
Despite spending most of his career as a right sided midfielder Nunez, who hopes to be back in full training within the next couple of weeks after recovering from knee surgery, admits he'd be more than happy for manager Rafael Benitez to give him a chance as a second striker.
He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I played many games in attack last season and it is definitely the position I enjoy playing most. It's the best position for me.
"I've played most games in my career on the right of midfield but if the manager asked me to play up front then I'd be happy to do so.
"Even though Cisse is injured we have lots of attacking options. Garcia is a good player who can score lots of goals and we have Pongolle as well so there are choices."
For now Nunez is solely concentrating on getting his Liverpool career off the ground after a frustrating beginning which has seen him hit by two injury blows.
After twisting his knee in only his second training session for his new club, the Spanish youngster then faced a further setback when he was told he needed an operation.
He's yet to make a first team appearance for the Reds but is hoping to start showing the Liverpool fans what he can do sometime before Christmas.
He said: "It's been a disappointing start for me here. It's down to bad luck and as a footballer you know this sort of thing can happen to you at any time.
"I've been back running with Steven Gerrard this week and so far that's going well. If there are no problems then I hope to be training properly with the ball in the next couple of weeks.
"Ideally I'd like to be playing again before Christmas but we'll have to see how things go."

Maybe not a bad idea. I feel he might be a more conservative version of Garcia (ie less of the flicks and backheels) but still technically good. Depends on his strength on the ball but it will make Raffa's 4-4-1-1 away formation a little more potent.
