Don't know much about Moreno.

To be honest I have mixed feelings on left back, whilst I think we need one partly as I don't rate Enrique ,whenever he is fit, I was watching the Shamrock Rovers game yesterday and Ben Smith looks a real prospect.
Would be a shame if if his progress was hindered, as I think he could be a really good player. With Robinson also we have some good young talent.

That's why, can't stand him but, Ashley Cole wouldn't be a bad option for a season whilst the youngsters continue to develop.

If you could have 4 realistic signings who would you pick? Mine would be Matt Hummels, Alberto Moreno, Adam Lallana and Antoine Griezmann.

I would agree with 3 of your picks, only one i would change would be Caulker for Hummels, oh and a cheeky bid for Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern  :grinning:

Must admit of them 4 only Lallana I know much about and would be very pleased if we got him.

Brendan clearly needs to look at the defence but I really hope we get a better/stronger version of Lucas to give that back 4 better protection.
I just don't think he has been the same player since his injuries.

I actually have a feeling we will get a couple of real marquee signings in this window.

I hope you're right mate BUT .................

I've got a feeling we'll make maybe ONE "marquee" signing plus a couple of "got a reputation but will they won't they make it here ?" signings.

Don't really want to knock BR after the season we've had BUT if I have any reservations about the man's management ability it's primarily his (and the board's ? ) transfer dealings.

For me it's all been a bit hit and to much miss.

That's pretty much my feeling as well. Our "marquee" signing will probably be Lallana (who I think is a good player, but not worth more than 15), and then we'll sign players like Ryan Bertrand and Steven Caulker (who I actually rate) and maybe 1 or 2 others that may or may not work out and that'll probably be about it.

We've apparently transfer listed the obvious targets such as Aspas, Reina, Assaidi etc (a few unexpected ones for me such as Robinson, Coady, Alberto, Toure and even Suso and Kelly). Ilori will be sent on another loan (if Toure is leaving then why loan Ilori again?).

Out of the more important ones, apparently Agger and Lucas have been transfer listed as well. I would like to keep Lucas, but it's rumored that Inter have offered 10 million pounds! I'm a fan of Lucas, but even I would be reluctant to refuse that offer. As for Agger, I'd sell him but only for a high price. Anyway, I'm not sure if releasing so many players is such a great idea. And Agger and Lucas have been here for a long time, is it smart to sell them as well?

I don't think Lucas has been the same player since the bad injuries and I actually think we need someone better than him in that role.
He isn't mobile enough.

We obviously cannot play Agger AND Sakho as they are both so left sided, still not really sure what will happen there but like Lucas, Agger has also been injury prone too.

I know what you mean mate, some of the signings haven't been great and you wonder why the likes of Alberto was signed at all, along with Aspas, and the 2 loan signings Moses & Cissokho they have offered nothing. I am just hoping the Champions League situation may help us attract better quality now.

Liverpool, Everton and Schalke are looking at Chelsea's Thorgan Hazard after Jose Mourinho decided he could go back on loan next term.

The Blues boss travelled to Belgium last night to watch the winger in action for Zulte-Waregem against Anderlecht in the league play-offs.

It is now being reported in Belgium that Mourinho has decided the 21-year-old isn't ready to compete for a regular place in his side and that the younger brother of Eden Hazard will be allowed to go out on loan elsewhere next season - after he plays in Chelsea's pre-season matches.

Liverpool have shown an interest and are at the front of the queue for Hazard's services next season.

The skilful winger has scored 14 goals in 37 matches for Zulte and is ready to step up into a bigger league while he may also be looking to dip his toe in the Champions League.

Schalke can also offer Champions League football after securing third place in the Bundesliga and Mourinho's decision on which club Hazard ends up at may rest on whether he believes Liverpool will be serious title challengers again next season.

Everton are also being linked with Hazard after Goodison Park boss Roberto Martinez admitted he intends to use his full quota of season-long loan deals again next season.

Liverpool and Arsenal are to go head-to-head to sign Lille winger Salomon Kalou.

The Ivory Coast international has been key to the Ligue 1 outfit's Champions League qualification.

He netted 16 goals and assisted five in all competitions, leading to speculation of a Premier League return.

The Gunners - who attempted to bring the forward to the Emirates in a loan deal in January - have reignited their interest, but now Liverpool have joined the chase for his services.

Kalou has a proven record in England, finding the back of the net 60 times and setting up 44 in his six years at Chelsea.

But the Premier League duo will have to fend off clubs from across Europe, with Roma, Atletico Madrid, Monaco and Galatasaray all keeping tabs on the 28-year-old.

Kalou has two years remaining on his contract at Lille and the club will want to make a healthy profit from the sale.

Liverpool and Manchester United are on red alert after Marseille star Andre Ayew admitted he's on the lookout for a summer move.

Italian side Napoli have made a offer of around £5million for the dynamic winger, which could trigger an all-out bidding war in the build-up to the World Cup.

The Ghana international, who has a year remaining on his current deal, has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League and could be set for a move across the Channel to one of England's top teams.

"It's a league every player dreams about," he said.

"The English league is the one most followed in Ghana. It's true that I have a real preference for England.

"I like a bit of everything; the atmosphere, the game, the fans. There is a lot of intensity. It is a beautiful championship."

Why are we continually linked with Kalou? When he was at Chelsea he was one of the names you wanted to see on their team sheet whenever we played them.
I'd rather see someone from the reserves like Ngoo or Dunn given a chance than waste millions again on yet more average players.

Arsenal,  Liverpool and Manchester United have been alerted to the possible availability of Barcelona star Pedro.

A Spanish radio station claimed that the striker is unhappy with his lack of first-team opportunities at the Nou Camp.

It's believed £20m-rated Pedro has received numerous offers to change clubs this summer - and if first-team football can't be guaranteed next season Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool could be battling for his signature.

Despite featuring in 36 of the Catalan giants first-team games, his season has been blighted with early substitutions - finshing less than 75 per cent of the games started.

The 26-year-old was the beneficiary of Lionel Messi's two month injury, and capitalised on his chance scoring seven times in that period.

However Pedro managed to score just four times in 21 games once four-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi returned.

Barcelona's transfer ban reprieve has led to a surge of activity from the Catalan club, who are keen to recruit before any such ban can materialise.

Apparently we're gonna buy him for 6m. Would be a steal. He's very very good.  :buttrock
