I think the main source of encouragement was how the players worked in retrieving the ball ,and in particular Sterling whose positioning
I have questioned this season ,but on Sunday he looked for all the world like an old fashioned winger, and gave Naughton a torrid time .
This all points to how Rodgers would love to see a team fashioned straight from his blueprint playing high tempo pressing football ,both
innovative and spearheaded by the incomparable Suarez.
Henderson's time has come.
Seriously... after one game?

This was in no small part due to the outstanding and tireless performance from Jordan Henderson.

As I said one game...
I'm going to try and give you some much needed perspective on that performance.
Tottenham 0 West Ham United 3
Manchester City 6 Tottenham 0
Henderson has been ***** poor since he signed. An improvement to average this season does not justify the money spent. He needs to reproduce that form in more matches than most. Unfortunately, its once a season, followed by 15 or so inept performances.

You have mentioned in numerous threads about player development optimising at age 23. Jordan was only 23 in June this year. He was only 21 when he joined Liverpool. In his first year apart from the odd glimmer he certainly didn't light the place up. Last year was very different and he showed significant signs of improvement which based on your own understanding is not that unusual for somebody of his age. I was never happy with what we paid for him. In fact I thought it was ridiculous. That however was not Jordan's fault. He is now progressing and developing into a very useful midfield player. I think your current assessment is very harsh. I could have said a load of old bollux but it is Christmas and that would have been very rude

I disagree. I think ***** poor is very fair.
He's gone missing in far many too many games since he joined. Today again, he was excellent. The thing that's grated me so often with him is the lack of influence he has in games. He has decent ability and a few good attributes in his locker but to many games simply pass him by.
On saying that, the last two games he's really stamped his authority on games. If he continues in this vein of form I won't have any problems with the lad what so ever. But to be honest, its going to take a lot more than two good games against poor sides to convince me he's turned the corner.
He does seem to be relishing playing with Suarez at the moment (who wouldn't) which is of huge benefit.

Anyway, the Liverpool manager continues to pick him even ahead of his purchase Joe Allen this season, so what do we and stu know...
