Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

In my eyes he is the world's best player at the moment.

If keeps doing that and stays out of trouble he will easily hit 40 goals this season and win player of year by a country mile.

In January we must do everything to bring in quality as Suarez needs help getting us 4th, and we must keep him at all costs.

Unless of course Faildrid are happy to spend another $100m plus on one player.

The argument with the ref about getting a corner in the 92nd minute summed up Luis Suarez

Then he was tcked off on why he was substituted

Genius :D

The best performance I have seen in years. I watched the goals back on MOTD and just burst out laughing. It was ridiculous.

Whether he's here after this season or not, fans should just appreciate being able to see this guy in this league whilst he is here. Once in a lifetime player.

I didn't think anything he did this season  would surpass that hat trick against West Brom which included that audacious  header from 18 yard box .

He certainly proved me wrong last night and I loved every minute of it

Wont achieve what Dalglish did in those brilliant teams but individually he's a better footballer and possibly the best we have ever had.

charlie nicholas said on sky sports last night that he thought suarez was already on dagger's level and if we hold on to him for a few more seasons he will become this clubs greatest ever player.
it is indeed a true privelage to watch one of the greatest in the world ply his trade here and i hope J.H bends over backwards to keep him here  :buttrock

Great goals yesterday but I'd like to emphasize how big of a threat his free-kicks are. They're as dangerous as penalty kicks. It's like we've become a huge goal threat from set-pieces over night. With Gerrard's crossing and Luis' shooting, I expect to see more goals scored from free-kicks, which is a great thing to have.

That's a cracking goal but the third is my favourite the way he goes round that defender and then pauses before striking it is sublime

Agreed, how Luis lifts the ball forward and across the oppo player from the left then slips behind him to the right completely bamboozles the defender and then bang goal number three , stunning piece of football  :bowdown

yeah the 3rd was the pick of the bunch, great awareness from him to round the defender but for me the technique for the strike was sublime. even though there might have been a hint of shin involved its such a hard shot to take on the half volley and to keep it down with such power, there was no stopping it.
there is talk in the mirror today of a new contract for him as well which is absolutely fantastic news.

I just love his attitude. When we were winning 5-1 against Norwich and he missed an opportunity or somebody didn't give him the ball his reaction was almost as if we were losing 5-1 !!! On his day he is quite simply the best player I have ever seen play for Liverpool and I go back nearly 50 years.

I defended him to the hilt during his periods of indiscretion (we all make mistakes ffs) and I'm glad that I did but more importantly I'm glad that the club did. He is adored by the fans and the summer has been consigned to history except of course for the odd clown that no doubt still questions whether or not  he should be playing for Liverpool. Just as important the body language of both himself and his team mates speaks volumes.

I suggested in the summer that if he behaved and had a good season and a decent world cup that he could be worth £60m. I now think that figure should be a minimum of £80m or possibly more !!!

Get him to sign a four year contract and give him a minimum of £250/300k a week as soon as reasonably possible. The mood he is in at the moment I think he would sign it. The proviso would be that he cannot leave until the end of next season at the very earliest and that he couldn't go to a Premiership team. Behaviour clauses may also be a good idea
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

My stance on Suarez is still unchanged, he's a genius and one of the best footballers to grace our shirt, but he's not a red at heart.

He never apologised to the fans for his summer ramblings and I've never forgiven him for that. Should he stay this season and leave in the summer for £60-80 million, I won't be too disappointed. However, I wont be too disappointed either if he signs a new deal and pledges his future to the club.

My gut feeling is the lad has been told he can go in the summer, should he want to, and that's what he'll do. Judging from this season, the likes of Real, Bayern and PSG will be queuing around the block for his services..

even though he looks like he's loving it here atm i have my doubts as to whether he will stay if we have no C.L.
i dont think he has changed his stance on wanting to play in it.
we can give him all the money we want if he sign's a new contract but imo he is not motivated by money and besides that whatever we do offer other's will match or top it.
if he does sign a new deal then i expect it to be on his terms and full of clauses that will stop us from putting our foot down and commanding him to stay.
our best bet of keeping him imo is signing the right players in january and making sure we qualify

This is the best deal for all round.
