If he was going to set the world alight, wouldn't he have done it by now?
Anyone can score a goal, Darren Bent got loads, it doesn't mean they're good enough to play for a top club though.
he only turned 24 on sunday!
i dont know where this stuff about city not fancying him comes from, sturridge was the jewel in the crown of their academy and they were f##king livid when daniel refused to sign a new contract and let his current one run out. (to be fair to city a similar thing nearly happened to us with sterling and suso)
when he signed for chelsea he was signing for the richest club on the planet at a time when they were accumilating big names like they were going out of fashion, it was always going to be difficult for a young player to break into the first team in those circumstances, especially when chelsea liked to play quite direct to a big CF which isnt daniels game at all.
sturridge is the real deal, he probably made a bad move not staying with city when he was younger but if he had stayed there he might not be here now.
i bet if you offered him to both city and chelsea now they`d bite your hand off, he`s the best striker in the country on current form.
