So 2013 draws to a close. A year that has certainly seen Liverpool move forwards both on and off the pitch. Just outside the top 4 at this stage having played most of the big guns away from home is certainly progression. The style of football is also as good to watch as I can remember in recent years. Anyway a few questions:

1. sturridge and coutinho turned our season (and even the club) around last january but this has to go to suarez. he scored more goals in the calender year than any other player in the prem.

2. hard to say, plenty of players have suffered from fluxuating form and a few have arrived and failed to make an impact but i wouldnt like to single anyone out. there`s been no obvious big money transfer flops or anything like that.

3. easy one this - hendo.

4. i think the recent spurs game just edges out the newcastle match from the latter stages of last season.

5. i think the recent debacle at hull just shades the F.A cup game away to oldham, at least in the oldham game we put up a bit of a late fight when gerrard came on.

6. suarez`s third against norwich the other week.

7. when suarez didnt leave in the summer.

8. i just hope we play as well and progress as much in 2014 as we did in 2013.

there has been a few but westbrom beating us in anfield to complete a double over us was tops for me

my hopes is that we sign some proper quality players that actually strengthen the first 11 in january.
my expectation is still what it was before the season in that we have to qualify for top 4 or at least be involved in a dogfight for it till the final whistle in may.
overall 2013 has been a good year for us in which we have seen so much potential emerge, some fine flowing football, plenty of goals, lots of points and memorable victories. long may it continue

Some deserved luck during games, a good transfer window and keep doing what we're doing. We're not too far off from returning where we belong.

2. Most disappointing player of 2013 - It's gotta be Borini for the transfer fee and the lack of impact.

3. Most improved player of 2013 - Jordan Henderson.

6. Best Liverpool goal of 2013 - Luis Suarez has numerous ones already but I especially liked the one Enrique got against Swansea.

7. Favourite Liverpool moment of 2013 - Flanagan scoring his first goal.

8. Hopes expectation for the rest of the season - That we qualify for the ECL, and that Tello and Barkley joins us and that's it

2. Most disappointing player of 2013 - Glen Johnson has been ver disappointing. Been one of my favorite Liverpool players, but I can't believe how poor he's been.

3. Most improved player of 2013 - A lot of you are saying Hendo, but I've got to say I feel a lot of people just didn't see the contribution he's had, and I've really enjoyed him playing for the team since last season anyway, so I'd pick Flannagan.

4. Best team performance of 2013 - 0-5 away to Tottenham was just lovely.

5. Worst team performance of 2013 - 3-1 away to Hull was awful, especially considering we were actually playing relatively well going in.

6. Best Liverpool goal of 2013 - I'd say Suarez's lob shot against Norwich was probably my favorite.

7. Favourite Liverpool moment of 2013 - Winning our first three games by capping off the 1-0 home victory against united.

8. Hopes expectation for the rest of the season - All I'm asking for is the top 4 at the end of this season, and that Luis sticks around to keep us climbing. Any spot above 4th, us signing some real marquee signings for the first time since Luis, or United finishing outside the top 4 would all just be added bonuses.

2. Most disappointing player of 2013 - Steven Gerrard ,he has always been our X factor ,When he is at the top of his game sky is the limit for this club ,unfortunately didn't deliver. (Glen can't disappoint as i never rated the guy)

3. Most improved player of 2013 - I'll pick Hendo although still has too many moments/games he is unnoticeable.

4. Best team performance of 2013 - Spurs away.

5. Worst team performance of 2013 - Hull away.

6. Best Liverpool goal of 2013 - One of Suarez i guess.

7. Favourite Liverpool moment of 2013 - The league table one week ago

8. Hopes expectation for the rest of the season -CL Spot and being competitive till the bitter end.

You could make a case for any of Johnson, Allen, Borini, and Aspas. Everything taken into consideration I'd go with Borini for the fee and the fact hes out on loan while we struggle for numbers upfront.

3. Most improved player of 2013

Again, a number of players to be considered; Sterling, Flanagan, Henderson, and I'd even add Sturridge and Suarez to the list. For me, this one goes to Sturridge who has improved immensely since joining us and has further improved from last season to this one. 2nd place for Henderson for his recent run if nothing else.

4. Best team performance of 2013

Tottenham was a good performance against an absolutely awful outfit on the day so that slightly puts me off picking it. I thought the recent defeat to ManCity was a very good performance as well despite the result and if anything, that performance was the most promising/telling sign that the side could go on and get that top4 spot if they continue to play the way they have so far.   

5. Worst team performance of 2013

Hull this season. Happens and we all know it but the lack of fight was a big disappointment.

6. Best Liverpool goal of 2013

Suarez. Too many of them and I cant remember who they came against to be honest.

7. Favourite Liverpool moment of 2013

Top of the league on Christmas.

8. Hopes expectation for the rest of the season

Well, ultimately I hope we get into the CL because if we dont then we might really struggle to keep a hold of Suarez and then it would only get tougher from thereon. Short term, I'd  go for a good transfer window and perhaps the players maintaining/improving current performances.
