to be fair to costa as a wide player if he is as accurate with his crosses as he is flinging snot he could be a decent addition.

:D   :D  :D

btw, the rumour is that RM will pay Totsh!te £105m for GB...Suarez would be worth a little bit more than that if that's the case.

Why is that? GB is a much better player then Luis.

In your opinion Only Me.

If Luis had not of been banned for the final 4 games he probably would have out scored RVP and collected both the golden boot and PFA.

FWIW I think Bale is a great player, both he and Luis Suarez are the type of player good enough to walk into any top side. You can prefer Bale but to say he is much better puts you in a very small minority (aside from Spurs fans)

If we get Costa and keep suarez then we'll defo need 1 more player to cover because them 2 will defo get banned during a season. Costa is a dirty b@stardo of a player. throwing gob all over, we can do without that

Was going to say similar to SCS.....yes both would deffo walk into any team, LS, though, IMO would be a few steps ahead of GB. and yes, if LS wasn't banned he would have scored more then RVP and got the player of the season award as a result.

Agreed, Bale is made for the media and Real Madrid to sell shirts. He does the little heart thing when he scores and he is clean cut. As players though there is not 50 million that separates them as Suarez to me is World class as is Bale. One is a media darling and the the other is blue collar, raised on the streets player with a chip on his shoulder. The price reflects this. Looking at Bale I see him as a skinny kid that has packed on muscle where as Suarez in naturally big. Many of those "skinny kids" turned big often suffer knee injuries and are never the same again. My gut feeling is Bale may be in that bracket. I'd rather have Suarez if not for the theatrics.

I look at a footballer a bit different ,Don't care much if Luis scores the most it's just a dry stat at the end of day ,I'm looking at his overall impact on the game ,his conversion percentage ,his assists ,his passing and sharing the ball and yes his character. Zlatan is a good comparison ,another goal scoring machine but for some reason he doesn't reach the highest level and that is why? because he is a selfish Prikk and his scoring goals doesn't impact or contribute to the teams overall Goal. That's why Barca rejected him and that's why he can't settle down.

I think Bale impacts the game to much greater degree then Luis ,he can't be contained and he has the ability to bring points ,he single handly/legly brought Spurs to where they are. An yes it helps he wasn't banned for 18+ games...Look at the whole package.

so Luis scoring the most goals is just a dry stat, you'd rather have  a player based on his character and how he shares a ball? as opposed to Luis who puts it in the net?

hmmm ok

Read the whole post. Scoring a lot of goal is a major part for a striker ,but not the ONLY one ,so yes I could careless if he would have scored 5-10 goal less but doubled his assists ,avoided bans and be a better team player. It's not a surprise we did just as well and even better when he was out of the pitch, Ball was shared more players involved...Same result.

Last seasons league assists -

Gerrard - 9
Suarez - 5
Coutinho - 5
Downing - 5

Your point?

Strikers are selfish by nature and quite frankly when you nearly win the golden boot, you're allowed to be.

I don't like my strikers selfish ,especially when they are not clinical as top strikers should be...I admit I don't like Luis because of his character, I think he is toxic to our name but that's for another discussion. Knowing you guys if he would have played for any other team not mention Manure or neverton he would have been crucified and beheaded on this forum.

Suarez and Bale are two different type of players - both world class and both offer something different

Bales pace is his main asset - he glides past people and finishes smartly - his dead ball deliver is top quality.

Suarez is more skilful , more creative and has more all round ability. As players then I would pick Suarez every day if the choice was between the two. Suarez has more strings to his bow

I'd agree with that, can't believe the price on Bale at the moment, £105m ?  really?

only me - What do you mean you don't like Luis? Come on he is a win at all costs street fighter and learned how to play in one of the poorest areas in Uruguay. He is no angel but he is entertainment personified. His character has got him to the top of his sport. To suggest that he is toxic to our name is an absolute exaggeration that the press would like everybody to believe. Embarrassing at times. Toxic never.

Yes he has a frustrating selfish streak and wastes opportunities but it still difficult to criticise somebody that has scored 51 goals in 96 games. The selfish bit is also partly as a result of Liverpool's relatively new contract policy to incentivise players for achievement. Luis's performance is mainly measured by the number of goals he scores. The more he scores the more he earns. When he hit a certain number of goals last season his weekly wage went up from £80k to £120k.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)
