I would also prefer Eriksen but I can understand why we would go for a winger rather than a number 10. As Red Indian mentioned, if we bring in Eriksen, Coutinho will have to play wide. I am willing to accept this because I really rate Eriksen and I believe that Coutinho will do well even if he's played wide, but I can understand if Rodgers thinks otherwise.

If we want a winger though we should go for someone who would fit more in our way of playing. I don't believe that Diego Costa will fit in our system and also don't think he's that good of a player. I don't think that he's a bad player, but IMO he isn't worth anywhere near 22m, considering what kind of players were singed for that kind of money (like Luis Suarez for example). If we want a winger we should go for someone like Muriel.

this costa is off his rocker, the stunts he pulls on an almost weekly basis will have the press and opposition fans up in arms here.
this fella thinks gobbing on players is part of the game, he`ll get banned for f##king months here if he keeps gobbing on everyone, it`s just not in the culture over here. he`s the pantomime villain of spanish football.
after all the grief we took over suarez i just dont understand the club going down this road

have only seen him play about 3 times and i didnt think he was that bad. it was kind of hard for anyone to shine in the same side as falcao but he seemed to be decent.
not sure about the price though but its probably a load of tosh anyway

Red, I think that no one that has seen him play would say that Costa is a bad player, but he's just not that good. And as yakka said, although it's not my main concern, he's a loose cannon.

i`ve spent the past hour reading up on him and people who watch a lot of spanish footy say he`s more famed for being a pain in the @rse than anything else.
here he is having a running battle with the real madrid defence, including the bit 1.10 in where he spits in his glove and flings it at ramos  :glare:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTeVf0I_JmA&sns=tw
was hoping we`d go in a different direction, like an ericksen, muriel or bernard

You dont know the back story. Notice how they all kiss and make up at the end? Id prefer Ericksen too though.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

While I agree Eriksen would definitely improve us, I hope we don't sign him. Seems the type that would quickly move on as soon as a "bigger" club came in for him.

“Spain would be ideal for me”, Eriksen stated.

"I think that Barcelona's style would fit me very well and a transfer to Camp Nou would be great."

I actually think we could manage to sign him, but I think he'd only see us as a stepping stone to Barca.

can't say I've heard of this Costa either, and his stats don't look too impressive neither, we'll see how it pans out, I'm not the most optimistic but I trust what Rodgers is doing (so far)

Maybe this bad boy attitude will take some of the pressure off Suarez, and show Suarez some intent. 2 crazy people instead of 1, there's only so much room for craziness.

The little research I've done seems to label him 'La Liga's most hated player'  :lookaround

I'm still not certain what 'type' of player he is. I quite like the thought of going for Jackson from Porto

btw, the rumour is that RM will pay Totsh!te £105m for GB...Suarez would be worth a little bit more than that if that's the case.
