That's million dollar question and if it did happen then I guess it would be answered in hindsight .

If he was sold to Gunners and become Andy Carroll Mark II type transfer then we be laughing all the way to the bank.
If on other hand he  became Van Persie Mark II well hasta la vista management

Here is some smart biz. Sell Luis to Arsenal for 40 if they drop Bernard and we sign him.

no one`s saying we should keep a player that really doesnt want to be here, what people are saying is that he should be sold abroad (just like keegan, mcmanaman and owen were)
if we get less money for him then so be it, but at least we wont be committing footballing suicide in terms of qualifying for the top 4.
if we sell arsenal suarez then for all intents and purposes this will be the second season on the bounce that will be effectively over before a ball is kicked. that takes some doing even by our recent standards.
this isnt 1987, it`s not £2.20 to get in anymore, fans arent going to fork out £50 to watch a side going through the motions, we saw that under hodgson when there were big gaps around anfield even on a saturday afternoon.
i`d actually feel sorry for rodgers in press conference`s, how`s he going to sit there with a straight face and say we are still an ambitious club when we`d just sold our best player to our main rivals? he`d be a laughing stock. infact can rodgers himself afford another damp suib of a season? another season like last one and fans will be saying he should have put his foot down over suarez being sold to arsenal, he`s a yes man etc.
if the likes of arsenal (with suarez leading the way), united, city and chelsea open up a big lead and we struggle what do you think the fans will say?
if fsg want to see big gaps around anfield from next january onwards then sell suarez to arsenal.

It's clearly very difficult for the club but is it more difficult than the situation faced in 2011 when Torres asked to join Chelsea? That season they were only top four contenders under Ancelotti until the final weeks of that season when they got to wihin six points of United.

I can see why the club and the manager would want Suarez to stay another season to try and help us get back into the champions league and in that it makes a lot of sense not to sell him to Arsenal or another top four side now.

Without a fifteen point improvement or something close to that during 2013-2014 I'm not sure that we will be able to retain Suarez beyond next summer unless he is happy to stay.

If he is staying hopefully he can reproduce his best form again once the ban is completed and in the meantime we get off to a good start to be in contention for the top places.

The only way he will stay is if we bring in 3/4 quality players so we are seen to be trying to compete. Never going to happen though. Hes a top player which we were lucky to get in the 1st place. Even luckier if you think we are going to get more than double our money back at least.

Believe it or not, Wenger has just said Arsenal has never been closed to signing Suarez. If he meant it, it means he knew Liverpool are adamant in not entertaining any bids less than 50Mill as that is how much BR values LS. And I don't think any club would fork out 50M for LS. If and that is a big IF Suarez stays for next season, will he be sulking like Torres before him? IMO, he would be very unprofessional, stupid and outright childish if he does. Because it was him who willingly signed the long contract last summer. And next season is World Cup year, if he sulks and performs below par, that would jeopardise his world cup chances.

who knows what wenger is thinking, maybe a fan pleasing excersise from him and the board.
i think he is clearly sulking as shown against melbourne and would have no hesitation to continue it and hope to revive a move in january. i also hope he is starting to realise that real arent bending over backwards to make him a priority and his options are thinning.
in terms of the W.C next season his position wont be under threat, his situation is viewed entirely with sympathy in uruguay and they will still select him even if he only manages 15 - 20 games this season. as long as he's fit he will be in rio.

No complaints over Luis Suarez's work ethic as LFC train in Thailand

Latest from the Liverpool FC tour as the Reds prepare for tomorrow's match vs Thailand

Brendan Rodgers insists he has no complaints about Luis Suarez's work ethic as uncertainty surrounding the Liverpool striker's future rumbles on.

The Uruguayan trained with his team-mates during a 90-minute session at Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium today.

Suarez has been frustrated in his attempts to secure a transfer away from Anfield with Liverpool having rejected Arsenal's improved offer of £40million plus £1 earlier this week.

However, despite have signalled his desire to leave, Rodgers says the 26-year-old hasn't been easing off and he has no concerns about playing him against Thailand in tomorrow's final tour friendly.

“Nothing has changed - Luis is still very much a part of the group,” Rodgers said.

“Obviously he will miss the early part of the season due to suspension but he will have some part to play in the remaining friendly games.

“He actually tweaked something in the shooting exercise towards the end there but I think he'll be fine for the game on Sunday.

“He's working hard and he's working well. There have been no issues.

“He's a number of weeks behind the others but I must say he's working tirelessly to get himself up to speed.”

Suarez delighted the thousands of fans with some moments of magic during a practise game on a heavy pitch which cut up badly following hours of torrential rain,

After nicking the ball away from Philippe Coutinho, he weaved his way past three players before finally being dispossessed by Kolo Toure.

He got up gingerly after being sent sprawling to the ground by Lucas Leiva but was able to complete the session.

His outbursts about wanting to leave Liverpool this summer appear to have done little to dent his popularity among club's global fanbase.

'We love Suarez' and 'Luis please stay' were two of the many banners on show and on his way off he stopped to sign a succession of autographs.

Earlier in the day he had accompanied Rodgers to a special fans event in the team hotel organised by sponsors Standard Chartered.

apparently some quotes from suarez`s mates -

CAVANI :

“We have been speaking a lot and, while I can’t tell you everything, I can tell you that he is desperate to start playing Champions League football.

“Liverpool already know that, though, because he has told them.

“I think if he thought Liverpool would qualify for Champions League football next season he would stay but, with the other top teams in England adding players, he doesn’t think Liverpool have the resources to break into the Champions League spots.

“I have said before one of the most complete strikers in the world needs to be playing at the top level and I hope Liverpool understand that.

“He doesn’t want to leave on bad terms because he respects the club and fans, but he needs to achieve his dreams in the game.”

FORLAN :

“Only Luis knows what his plans are – but he would be a great signing for Arsenal,” said Forlan, a Uruguay team-mate of Suarez.

“Of course, Arsenal are a very strong team, but, for the last years, they have not been able to compete with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea for the title.

“They have had very good players, but have maybe lacked that one special player who you need to win a league as strong as the Premier League.

“United have had Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie and City have had Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez. But Arsenal have struggled since Thierry Henry left.

“If they manage to sign Luis, then I think, with the players they already have, they would be serious title contenders again.”

Yeah great if he does stay and then this all kicks off again in January after his ban is finished as a Liverpool player

if we are occupying one of the CL spots he won't.
if he stays then i hope he's professional and drops the sulking cos sooner or later the rest will alienate him.
we know we cant afford to have a big wage sitting on the bench so maybe he will end up going out on loan  :eyebrow till a buyer is found next year

hopefully the kunt shows up tomorrow, smiles and looks like he wants to be there  :D

Too true mate
Hopefully it will get into his head soon that he can't sell as many T-shirts as Bale so Bernabeu aren't calling
