No complaints over Luis Suarez's work ethic as LFC train in Thailand
Latest from the Liverpool FC tour as the Reds prepare for tomorrow's match vs ThailandBrendan Rodgers insists he has no complaints about Luis Suarez's work ethic as uncertainty surrounding the Liverpool striker's future rumbles on.
The Uruguayan trained with his team-mates during a 90-minute session at Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium today.
Suarez has been frustrated in his attempts to secure a transfer away from Anfield with Liverpool having rejected Arsenal's improved offer of £40million plus £1 earlier this week.
However, despite have signalled his desire to leave, Rodgers says the 26-year-old hasn't been easing off and he has no concerns about playing him against Thailand in tomorrow's final tour friendly.
“Nothing has changed - Luis is still very much a part of the group,” Rodgers said.
“Obviously he will miss the early part of the season due to suspension but he will have some part to play in the remaining friendly games.
“He actually tweaked something in the shooting exercise towards the end there but I think he'll be fine for the game on Sunday.
“He's working hard and he's working well. There have been no issues.
“He's a number of weeks behind the others but I must say he's working tirelessly to get himself up to speed.”
Suarez delighted the thousands of fans with some moments of magic during a practise game on a heavy pitch which cut up badly following hours of torrential rain,
After nicking the ball away from Philippe Coutinho, he weaved his way past three players before finally being dispossessed by Kolo Toure.
He got up gingerly after being sent sprawling to the ground by Lucas Leiva but was able to complete the session.
His outbursts about wanting to leave Liverpool this summer appear to have done little to dent his popularity among club's global fanbase.
'We love Suarez' and 'Luis please stay' were two of the many banners on show and on his way off he stopped to sign a succession of autographs.
Earlier in the day he had accompanied Rodgers to a special fans event in the team hotel organised by sponsors Standard Chartered.
