muriel is probably even quicker than sturridge and i think having two flying machines like sturridge and muriel ahead of him would compliment coutinho`s game perfectly.
muriel only played 22 games last season as he was injured but he scored 11 goals (a strike rate of 1 in 2, from the wing!!) and won young player of the year.
i just dont see how soldado and sturridge can play together, and i dont see how soldado and coutinho strike up a natural pairing.
If Spudz retain Bale and get Soldado they will definitely be serious contenders for the top four ,I think Soldado is definitely a powerhouse striker
and will make us favourites to sneak into the champions league spots.
I do however understand your reservations,as Muriel would be a like for like swap with Suarez and would enable Rodgers to stick to his footballing
philosophies, whereas he would have to tinker with the sides set up if Soldado was included ,but having Soldado up front for the reds would be worth
the shake up ..... Liverpool need a striker who will be a cause for consternation amongst defenders ,and Soldado fits that bill perfectly .
the way i look at it mate is that unless we are bringing in someone like messi or ronaldo we are going to take a significant backward step when we lose suarez.
if we try to replace him with another forward there`s no way whoever we bring in is going to be as effective. not only that if we bring in an out and out leader of the line he is going to upset the balance we have up top.
i`d rather go in a different direction, we saw when suarez was out that coutinho and sturridge (with the likes of hendo supporting from midfield) were a potent strikeforce, i`d rather build around that by bringing in a goalscoring wideman.
when kevin keegan left we went in a totally different direction, toshack was frozen out and we went with dalglish and johnson, when rush went we went in a totally different direction again, aldo was a target man he wasnt a pace merchant like rush, i`d do the same again.
