I saw the whole Luis Suarez conference (in spanish) and feel things are being taken out of context. I don't have time to make a full translated transcript, but he opens saying anything he says is blown out of proportion and that he loves Liverpool (club and city and fans). There is no contact from Madrid, however if an offer came by it would be hard to say no, since it's normal to consider an offer from such a big club. He has a contract with Liverpool and anything said right now is speculation. He goes on to say he does not know if he'll stay or leave but if he stays he'll be "loco de la vida" (extremely happy, overjoyed) but it will be hard from all the harrasment he gets.

He goes on to say all the media went against him, making fun of him everywhere and that none said good things about him or tried to defend him. He then says that he said in the official LFC site he knew he would never win any awards in England because of how the media portrays him and that Gerrard deffended him, saying media are unfair with him.

Finally, what has been mistranslated and I see some people angry about:

my traslation (have not done this in a while, so my english could be a bit rusty)
"If it was about money I would have already left to another country, which has already been said before, but im putting my family and my image first and I think that is the most important thing for me. Its that I have been through some very hard times from which I would like to get out of, and I'm not just saying this because im here (Uruguay), but the coach and some of my team mates know that I've suffered, been through hard times, been mistreated and I was not pleased so they understand perfectly and and it would be perfectly understandable if some day I left Liverpool."

In the context, he never says that he has been mistreated by his team mates, coach or fans but that they understand what he has been through. He has nothing but good things to say about Liverpool and the fans. Yes, he does mention Madrid but I dont think he will push a move that will hurt the club (like Owen did), he owes Liverpool too much. Hopefully we can keep him for one more season, I'd say its pretty much 50/50 at this point though.

Thanks for that

Not really because then people wouldn't be able to find other things to blame instead of the player

This way he is trying to blame the media, the FA etc ( despite saying previously they don't bother him ) and trying to save face with the fans.

Most know why he is going and arent getting the wool pulled over our eyes by him.

This speculation has been going on for nearly 12 months now

I was waiting for someone to do this. Media can't be trusted.

I agree, I doubt that Suarez will force his way out, but I still think he'll leave.

Why would I change my mind. I don't believe him - he is a professional footballer and there main goal is to look after themselves and to be a success.

We aren't going to give him the platform for that success any top player would crave.

He is one of the best players in the world and will want to play at the top. That's why he wants to leave IMO and why he would have a release clause in his new contract and why he had that new contract last summer.

Lets stick to the subject of Suarez without going down tit for tat alleyways.

I have given my thoughts on the subject and those thoughts won't change unless I see or hear anything that I think should make them change in regards Suarez.

barrett now saying that we want £50m minimum before we even consider selling. the problem is i have no confidence in the people running this club playing hardball to such an extent that we get anywhere near that.

So I found the quote that some of you have been wetting yourselves over.........

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1464950/suarez-not-comfortable-england?cc=3436

He said the media had said “silly things” about him and spoke of “all the pictures, all the taunts”, adding: "That happened every day and nobody [in the media] supported me. They talk about me being the named as the best player in England, but I knew that wasn't going to happen.

"I knew it because of the way they treated me. And the straw that broke the camel’s back was my mistake. I accept my blame, but they went too far."

Oh dear Kartiek and Rushie#9. You have been caught spreading bs like wildfire.

Let's see if you have the b.al.ls to admit you were wrong this time.

It's clear as day that you're unreserved hate for one of our own players has clouded your judgement  :no

Nothing would be better then seeing Suarez stay and sticking it up to the racist English media, Real Fadrid (we have already confirmed "personal terms with him") but more importantly the sea of muppets that have the audacity to call themselves "Liverpool fans" wanting him out because they worry more about what people think of our club then getting on with building a proper side.

It still doesn't change the fact that he's hinting an exit, eds, it just shows that he isn't an ungrateful *****.

We worked our way into football's elite before, with the following we have amassed during our more successful periods we still have the potential to get back there. We have a good man in charge but we need to be realistic, more high profile players will no doubt come and go before we are back where we want to be but I for one won't be crying because another self important "superstar has passed through our doors.

Sh*t sorry guys, that was supposed to be a response to eds!

This isn't an exercise it futile CHEST BEATING.

It's reminding half of you what will happen when we starting bowing down to the likes of Real Faildrid.

I agree that we have that potential, but if we continue to sell our best players then we stand no chance of returning to football's elite. You just can't argue with that point. Just look at Arsenal as an example.

And that is solely the point, I'm trying to make we should be fighting tooth and nail to keep the likes of Coutinho and Suarez at this club.

High profile players won't come if they see the likes of this happening. What you will get over time is talented young players (possibly) coming in but jumping ship as soon as the harpies begin circuling in as soon as they have 1 good season.

From our point of view this is something we need to avoid at all costs.

But he hasn't left yet, so the over-the top reaction of some of our so called fans is plainly embarrassing, especially when his points on the English media are valid.

Until he leaves what's the point in having pot shots at one of our players?

Fans are entitled to write all the bile they want when he is actually gone but not while he is still here.

Otherwise you are going to look very foolish if he continues to be a Liverpool player next season :suspect:
