JONJO SHELVEY - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I have said I don't rate Shelvey, and I stand by that.

He was none existent today, and I don't believe he is good enough to be in the first team.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

indeed. he's going to be a beast.

it's just refreshing to see a midfielder who wants to get in the box at every opportunity. he reminded me of a young gerrard tonight.

Thats the exact word i was going to use mike, for such a young lad who will only grow in strengh he is at times looking like a beast already. Nice to see some of rafas younsters starting to come through, felt a little sorry for pacheco tonight, he`ll never be a center forward, up there on his own.

Whatever about Shelvey going forward, he never tracks back. Noticed it a lot even in the short time he was on this evening.

had a great game when he came on tonight.completely changed us in the final 3rd.
all this lad needs is to continue the run of games he's getting and next season he will be a monster in the red.
i was disapointed last season when we signed hendo and loaned out jonjo to blackpool.then he was doing well there and was recalled and rarely used so im delighted rodgers see's his potential and is prepared to put his faith in the lad.

He was a game changer last night. The fella's obviously got skill but I'm not getting carried away about his prospects just yet, far too many times this season his decision making has been poor, when he sorts that out we'll have a real player.

i think he's a superb player and I'd like him to play in midfield instead of Stevie and then maybe push Stevie up top. I also like the look of Borini more and more, he will come good, I'm 100% sure of it.

he's an attacking midfielder who can also play in a free role. i don't want him tracking back.

Shelvey is on the up no question but whilst he has proven he can hammer in goals
and dominate in the Championship and Europa he has yet to do that in the Premiership.

After looking like is career could go either way he has certainly made a big leap this year
to put himself firmly in the frame, and his challenge now is to have a real impact in the
league.

Hes keen as mustard but needs to hang in there because hes still only 20 and even at this
point I think hes on a par ability wise with a lad like Cleverley who is just making a noise
now at senior level aged 23. All Cleverley may have on him is that extra 3 years experience
but not a great deal in it for my money.

If he can keep working hard and listening to people hes given himself a good shot of having
a long run in the big time now surely so I hope he doesnt implode and just keeps at it.

He was great when he came on last night and not just for his goals.

Every time he gets the ball he is looking for something positive and creative.

I actually agree with Heimdall, i think he deserves to be in the furthest forward position of the 3 in midfield for Gerrard
Sabre looks like a big lezzer
