Has anyone seen John Barnes presenting Channel Five football? He is nowhere near as good at presenting as he was playing. 'Stick to the day job mate, get yourself involved in coaching or managing.'

Yes I agree it was painful to watch and he was hopelessly out of his depth.
Mind you you could say the same about his time in management at Celtic !

Yeah, he doesn't look comfortable at all does he as a programme anchor.  He was always more comfortable offering advice and judgment, not leading the way on his own.

He was out of his depth as a manager, now as an anchor.  I like him commentating though.  Not so much pressure I guess. But he was an absolute cracking footballer. Go On Digger!

it's like watching a primary school end of term play. He's always been rubbish as a pundit and now to see him sitting there terrified as he butchers his auto cue script its too much. You feel that he hopes his designer suits will distract from his nervousness but it just makes him look a fool. I wish he had disappeared from the public eye after he quit playing footy because as a player he's one of the best ever, an absolute legend.

I've never really enjoyed any Channel 5 coverage though, it's never been as good as the other channels has it?

It's always been like the other broadcasters picked up all of the juicy ties and the best commentators, analysts and ex-players, and Channel 5 got stuck with the leftover scraps.
