Why. What was wrong with what i said??

1 point from 9 isnt good enough?
Arsenal were in the same position last year?
We never played bad just made mistakes?
When we get used to the system we will dominate games and win most ?

Be careful what you wish for. Malaga are currently finding out what its like being bought by a sugar daddy owner who invests heavily then loses interest and takes off. Theyre in the CL this year after heavy investment but their talismanic middle eastern owner has gone AWOL and sanctioned sales of the likes of Rondon and Cazorla, while many players are owed wages from last season.  A club as small as Malaga cant sustain that wage bill without the owner's money. Its still a mystery why he's done it after getting them into CL.

I can understand being more careful with funds this summer after irresponsible spending over the past 18 months, but the Carroll/Dempsey situation is a real ***** up. Henry knows it, hence the open letter to fans. At least he's acknowledged it and seems to be un tune with what we feel as fans.

Someone else in this thread nailed it tho, they're seeing if they can trust Rodgers in the transfer market before throwing cash at him. I don't think they'll expect CL this season, just signs of progress.

Unfortunately it means it's probably going to be a long season for us. I'm not expecting much and certainly not top 4 barring a miracle.

Do you want the club to be a self-sustainable club, or do you want a sugar daddy? It essentially boils down to that...

This self sustenance lark would be all the more palatable if it was a direction every club was now taking ,but sadly its not just the "Sugar Daddies"
(as you so eloquently put) that have bought substantially in the transfer window .... It would be nice, if just for once the owners could part with
their hard earned dollars without us having to sell players in order to buy . So in answer to your question I would suggest the owners could do a lot
worse than meet somewhere in the middle of your proposed suggestions .

If we get top 4 this season which is still an easily manageable position to finish i can see them financing hugely in the summer of 2013.

Sorry but how is 4th place easily manageable when we can't score any goals and have a goalkeeper who is either momentarily incompetent or doesn't give a sh!t any more?

Right one point from 9 isnt a great start saying that weve played 2 of the top 3 from last year. As i stated in another thread Arsenal were in the same position as us a year ago and ended up in 3rd place. We arent playing bad football were making mistakes that cost us goals and when the players have got used to the system you will se a side that not only is playing very attractive football but a side who should dominate and win most games

What part of we don't have any strikers or goal threat are you struggling with? It matters not a jot that we look organised and good, which I admit we do, when we have no one to score the goals.

Only joking LFC1990.

I hope your right.

But the fact is we played well against City but very poor against a mediocre West Brom side.

The football is great but we are crying out for an end product.

reports on sky said we had about 20mil to spend on a two players in the last day of the window.

what i can work out from all the media stuff and bits thats have come from within the club is.

two medicals booked for 6pm and 8pm

two players agreed to move to the club.

one players did not even tell the club that he had changed his and the first the club knew he was not coming when it was reported on Sky news.

another player got the car turned around on the M6 and ended up at another club.

I dont think this was down to the owners , its down to the players that just did not wish to play for this club.

seen posts saying that the 20mil was for the fee of the players and wages? i cant see this being right, how would they work that out? do it on a year or per game?

I say the 20mil was just for the fee's.

the problem come about as that we banked to both of them deals being done and dusted when they were not.

yes our manager should take some of the blame as it was he that let our striker go the night before.

the owners have come out and backed him today....i would be worried if i was him, that his first mistake at the club and i hope he gets the time to put it right.

Nice gesture with the letter but an admission they have made bad decisions since buying the club and
they want to claw that money back now.

FSG were meant to have the knowledge and experience to move us forward but in 2 years have failed on
almost every level and given the shambles of last week there are still real problems within the corridors
of Anfield.

With 2 years wasted they are now asking for patience and a second chance whilst they get their act together
but its a lot to ask fans who put so much faith in this company and now feel let down.

Not really sure why the invested if there is no money to be made and they dont have the finance to gamble
their own money, seems like a waste of time but I still smell a firm that bought cheap and will sell on at profit
and until then we will be fed the usual propoganda to keep us quiet.

i believe we`ll continue to struggle to score with this 4-3-3 system, the 2 wide forwards arent forwards at all they are wingers who are expected to (and often do) track back to the edge of our own box, what sort of forwards have to worry about where the opposition fullbacks are? everyone knows how often fullbacks attack in the modern game and it`s up to our wide forwards to cover those runs.
we are basically playing with one up front and he isnt a natural leader of the line, and for all the talk of systems and controlling games we are relying on suarez to produce a bit of magic in a one on one situation to create a chance.
we have played 3 league games this season and we have scored 2 goals, both of those came from set pieces.

Heidmall - Your basing the fact we dont have a goal threat on the fact we have only scored in one match and neither was from open play which is fair enough. What you need to take into consideration is Borini in my opinion hasnt been given the oppurtunity to play through the middle. were still very early on in the transfirmation faze as Rodgers transfers our game play into "his way"

Suarez
Borini
Downing
Gerrard - They all carry a goal threat despite Downing not performing last year.

We having promising talent in Sterling and Assaidi that when given the chance may create more for us to put away.

Also The ball Gerrard gave away and a mistake from Reina was the diffrence had that not happend and one of our genuine penalty shouts been given and we won the game 1-0 would you have been moaning today? Probably not.

Take into sonsideration we have played 2 of the top 3 in our opening games with a team in transition and got 1 point from it - Exactly what we got last year with Carroll Bellamy Maxi ETC.

Maybe we wont get top 4 this year but 1) I wont give up until its mathmatically impossible 2)Give the team a chance before you doom us

Hope I eat my words over this but it seems to me we have seen this film before.

Different American owners but same old story and Rodgers has become the new
Rafa, already complaining about transfers.

Buckle up for American Horror Story II same script different cast.

Cant be ar'sed reading all them. Football fans are by nature moaners anyway.
Were in a situation that needs support not silence, like on sunday. Yes its frustrating and even frightening but people whinging and crying like arl tarts insnt going to help. Yes I know we all have a right to express our opinion but for fu'cks sake cant some people give it a rest?
Henry's letter is exactly what you would expect from a businessman: politician like, whereby he blames his predecessors. But he goes on to say they have had their own fu'ck ups:
"We are still in the process of reversing the errors of previous regimes. It will not happen overnight. It has been compounded by our own mistakes in a difficult first two years of ownership. It has been a harsh education, but make no mistake, the club is healthier today than when we took over."
He does it again:
"We will build and grow from within, buy prudently and cleverly and never again waste resources on inflated transfer fees and unrealistic wages. We have no fear of spending and competing with the very best but we will not overpay for players."
I have no doubt that Dempsey sh'it on us from a great height. His bullsh'it "I dont want to go to Villa I want to go to Liverpool" kidded the bo'llocks of us. All of a sudden hes signed a 3 year deal with spurs, because we wouldnt pay £2 mill? My fu'ckin ar'se, he planned it all along to stay in london, the sly cu'nt.
We are guilty of naivety and rushing ahead without consolodating first. But Henrys right when he says weve got new talent as well as keeping Skrtl, Suarez and Agger. How many were crying their eyes out at the thought of any of these leaving? Arent you glad we kept them?
Cut them some slack. Ok we are not in an ideal position, but anyone who expected Rodgers to wave a magic wand after the last five years of absolute chaos and instability should go get their head tested.
Patience and support must be given by everyone. Otherwise you are deluded and YOU will bring bring the club down, not the yanks, or the manager or the players. The supporters will revive or kill LFC, mark my words...
