Oxlade-Chamberlain is not a center midfielder, Jordan Henderson is not a winger. Your comparison is void.

Oxlade-Chamberlain looks like a promising prospect, but that doesn't mean to say he will turn into a quality player does it? I seem to remember Theo Walcott, Ryan Babel, Royston Drenthe etc being touted as "the next big thing" only to fizzle out faster than a bottle of fanta. In contrast Lucas Leiva who three years ago was touted as being a complete waste of space has come on leaps and bounds and is now an important first team player whose presence is sorely missed.

There is no doubt that our club has over-paid for certain players, notably Henderson, but who is to say that Henderson won't turn into a very good player for us? Give the lad time, he's only 21 after all.

With all due respect you don't pay 17-20 million for a 21 year od player and give him additional 3 years to develop ,this isnt how modern football as a Biz and as a sport is played and managed this days. And for the world of me i havn't seen a glimps of special talent in Young Hendo so far to justify this bad Biz. We can't keep brining "working horses" As Kuyt ,lucas or future Hendo and expect to compete for anything.

hendo has got more to his game than just being a workhorse, he`s got an eye for a pass and he likes to hit them early so it shows he has good awareness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItR3MIsA4VI&feature=related - he`s done that quite a few times this season, hitting a first time pass like that, he did it against everton last tuesday but distin just got around on the cover, i`m quite impressed with the vision he has got for a 21 year old.
he`s nowhere near the finished article but there`s definately a lot of potential there.

Gotta Love Youtube...I rather trust my eyes week in and out watching young hendo. My last impression of him is against Everton on the first minute where he scored a field goal instead of hitting a decent cross...Maybe he should aim for American Football or Rugby.

No one buys a potential for 20 mill ,no way ,he is expected to deliver right here right now. Yes he is probably years from reaching his fullest form but his current one is unaccaptable for top form premiership football.

that`s the spirit mate, he put martin kelly clean through on goal in the derby, he had a shot which looked a certain goal blocked by a last ditch everton tackle, he put in a great first time through ball similar to the one in the youtube clip that suarez just couldnt get onto the end of and he put in another clever pass to suarez which turned the everton back four in the build up to the second goal but the only thing you remember is a miss hit cross?
is that cross only thing you remember or the only thing you choose to remember?

He deffo has talent and potential and has slightly improved.
I wish he would believe in himself more and stop being so hesitant and unsure

He was never as bad as some here claimed. Its easy to look good when you are compared to Adam and Spearing.  Its not so easy when you are compared to Alonso and Mascherano.

The Hendo bashing is a bit too much for me. Its clear he's not comfortable as a winger and I won't slate him while he's being deployed there. He has a good eye for a pass and needs to learn to get forward a bit more. I honestly think he'll be a very good player in a few years

and in response to whoever mentioned the time thing, RVP has took 8 seasons to get where he is...

While Hendo plays for LFC, he has my support 100%
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

RvP has always looked like a quality player though, but he has had big injury problems.

Hendo looks like he can develop into a useful player for us, so i'm not that worried about him. He just should not start as often as he does now, and its about time Kenny realizes he isnt a winger.

I really cannot see what he adds to the team at the moment, he's not playing well, played out of position and could understand if some of the reserves get p1ssed off wondering how he get picked week in week out

The thing is,. when most teams buy a hot young prospect, no matter the cost, they bed them in slowly, don't expect too much, let them get settled. We seem to buy someone and expect the world.
