Those who took a more sympathetic view of his treatment in that case will tend to be more understanding, and vice versa. If you took a more sympathetic view of his case, you have to ask whether you would shake the hand of a person you considered to have stitched you up in the way that Suarez believes he was by Evra. Otherwise, you are likely to think it outrageous, as the Manc's obviosly do as well as much of the media.
The alternative is to take the pragmatic view that irrespective of his guilt or innocence vis-a-vis the racism charge, it was better to avoid any further controversy by simply shaking his hand and getting on with the game in the spirit of moving on.
Personally, I'm not particularly a'rsed that he didn't shake Evra's hand but would have preferred that he did so as to avoid the media storm that has and will undoubtedly follow, for the sake of the club more than any one individual.

your right there and i wouldnt think many would.
i would stand by my principles their and its unfair that luis is asked or expected to go against his just to appease the media.
i dont blame luis or even evra here, for me the blame solely lies at the door of the fa who are guilty of double standards and making a completeup of this situation since the day it happened.

i wish some brave journo would actually give him a chance to give his version of events for the benefit of the general public. right now it seems he's about the most hated man in football.

then someone has to stand in front of the media and state this. Say "This is not about racism, this is about a c*nt lieing about Suarez and we won't have that and will take this to court if need be"
