Disagree St Mike, the hole's in Johnsons defensive capabilities are/were no myth, his poor positioning, lack of concentration, reckless challenging have all been apparent in recent seasons
Having said that () he certainly seems to be improving on those aspects of his game. Hats of to the coaching staff for the job they've been doing with Johnson and the rest of our back four.

Agree with this.
Johnson has done well this season so far and I'm more than pleased. But he still has mental lapses and can, on occasion, be a liability when he goes walkabout. If anything, he is the weaklink in an otherwise excellent defense this season.
Not saying he's bad. He has been very, very good and again agree with woof that kudos must go to the coaching staff, but of our back 4, he's the one who is most likely to be tsgrtrd by quality opposition.

i'm not saying he's perfect. most fullbacks will get caught out of position every now and again and switch off. hell i've seen enrique do it on more than one occasion this season.
what i'm saying is that this tag of him "not being able to defend" was completely innaccurate and stunk of lazy journalism to me. it was a bandwagon that everybody jumped on. he's a far better defender and player than kyle walker for example who somehow has the england right back shirt at the moment.
micah richards is the only right back who comes close to johnson in terms of ability in the league imo.

he`s been tremendous this season and he`s starting to show real leadership qualities as well, it was martin who fronted evra when he celebrated in front of suarez at old trafford and generally no matter who we are playing any hint of trouble he`s first there to back his team mates up.
starting to weigh in with goals as well
