Holy f.uck batman

Serious serious difficult games coming up, i know we sometimes thrive on playing the big boys but we really need to get our act together and the players need to have a long hard look at their performances and how they can improve.

I was going to start a thread about seriously bringing in some of our youth players to inject some pace, enthusiasm and creativity into the team.

But looking at the fixtures it may do them more harm than good.

Would love to see coady, sterling, morgan and suso in the team, sterling especiallly to put defences on the back foot with his direct running at them with the ball.

Something needs to change.

Tough games.

I am not sure on some of the young players, Sterling is promising but I have seen him knocked off the ball by opposition reserve sides regularly, he is quite lightweight.

He will find it hard against seasoned Premier League defenders at this moment in time.

Suso has been up and down this season.

Ideally we should be having these boys and the likes of Coady on the bench so that when we are 2 or 3 up we can bring them on for 20 minutes...oh hang on a minute.  :(

We need to push for a UEFA cup place. Fortunately we tend to perform ok against the big teams, but whether we can maintain that with so many in quick succession I don't know.

I've pretty much written off the league. We dont have the players to string wins together which is what it will take. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are gash this season, and with quality signings we would be comfortably in 4th right now, but we aint, and only a change in personnel (new forward, creative midfielder, defensive midfielder) over the next 10 days would give us a chance.

The focus is Wednesday in what is by far the biggest game of the season. Win that, our season is saved.. and we can regroup in the summer and overhaul the squad.

looks like 15 points and passage into the next stages of two cups to me
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

the next 7 games are tough and will most definately define our season.
the league campaign has been a disapointing affair and although we were playing some great stuff at times it just led to frustration.
now we find ourselves with only 2 domestic cups to go for and neither the city or manure match will be easy and if we attempt to repeat that display against bolton then this time next week all we will have is to look forward to is next season.

I see a perhaps not too mad rumour floating about that both Real Madrid and Inter are after Suarez.....with the owners not against the idea because of the bad press the Evra cack has brought to the club....
Can't see it meself truth be told, but with all the daft PC-ness these americans bang on about, who knows ?

i agree with this.
that lad chamberlain was fantastic today, such a clever player and what a run and pass to rvp for the goal.real quality to pick out that pass and no wonder rvp cracked up when he was subbed.
if arsenal can do it then why cant we?.
i know its easier to integrate lads in when we are playing well and winning but we can well afford to give a couple of them a run out here and there.

Forget the next 7 games, I think our season has already been defined with a good chunk played already, mediocrity all round with a disappointing finish.

A Carling Cup would only paper over the cracks in the current squad & give ammunition to defend the very poor signings Kenny/Comolli have made.

It's embarrassing that we now have to turn to the reserves to try to motivate some of the highly overpriced rubbish in the first 11.

Safe to say, we really should have picked up more points in the league going into this difficult period of games.  Hopefully we can get some good results
