Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

The article would make you want to shoot someone. Two points:

Why did no outlet, or anyone at the FA challenge the decision with any of the points made in the article.

Why has the club chosen not to appeal? Do we think that the guys in the PR department have stepped in and decided the club was getting too much bad press and they went with damage control?

I think that once Luis admitted to using the word negro we had a problem. For whatever reason he has been made an example of.

Very surprised that Kenny has been the only LFC spokesman. It would be normal under circumstances such as these to hear from the owners and managing director.I find that a little strange.

I just hope that the supporters don't abuse Evra during the next match which will make matters worse. A massive apology to Evra and Manchester United emblazoned all over the Kop before the next home match would be an interesting way to move forward. LET'S BE THE BIGGER MAN RATHER THAN A WHINGING PRAT !!!

If i was accused of something and was innocent, i would never ever ever accept punishment. Even more so if i was a public figure and my character was damaged. I would see it as defamation of character and fight this one all the way. Now, since none of this happened, to my mind anyway, hes accepted guilt that he used racist language. I wouldnt be sitting in the stands smiling. The FA and British media are disgraceful organisations so the club shouldnt have made any statements and let Luis make his own.. we dont know his motives.. we cant speak for him. We have taken the hit for him, Kenny is loyal to a fault, and the only way he can repay that is by winning some major silverware for us. However i can see him leaving much sooner as he will get dogs abuse wherever he goes. In Spain he wouldnt get any.

We haven't. Look a Kenny's recent comments about telling the truth. The fact is, if we appeal, we as fans know, as well as the club knows, we are fighting a losing battle.

We all know the FA are wrong, we all know the FA are corrupt, but how can we prove it?

How can we, as fans, portray our grief at judgement against Suarez? we cant. And the club knows this also.

Its a corrupt world we live in, and there is nothing we can do about it.

There is something we can do about it
1 Learn from our mistakes
2 Never let it happen again
We have never, as far as I can remember, had anything to do with the phony tw@ts at the FA. By that I mean we have never given them cause to get involved with us to this sort of level. That is because we have been exemplory on and off the pitch. Either that or weve kept things well hidden?
Just think over the last 12 months how many times weve had to deal with these rats. We must wise up and realise the less they have to do with us the better. No more fu'ck ups and no more giving them the excuse to publicly maul us.
Lets just get on with our mission and leave it to all the other w@nkers to kiss the hypocritical, incompetent, corrupt fu'ckers ar'ses.

STAY AWAY FROM THE FA!

Evra admitted to the spanish language insult yet no action was taken.

The FA scores more own goals than Carra.

Reg - i think I read somewhere that by the time Evra actually admitted what he said the time limit to bring a case against him had expired. Sounds ridiculous to me. Maybe somebody with a greater knowledge of the legal situation could clarify.

For sure there are time limits in the legal process but despite this, the FA can take remedial action.

LFC not appealing also takes the heat off the matter publically, allowing for quiet discussion to go on behind closed doors.

I'm pretty sure that if all this side issues are indeed correct then the FA can't ignore them and discussions will surely be taking place.

evra will get slated when he comes here likewise when suarez plays in ot.
thats the way it is and as long as either remain at the clubs involved thats the way it always will be.
to suggest that fans plaster the kop with banners offering an apology over this is insulting.
do you think for one second if the situation was reversed we could expect to see blue nose grovelling and ot full of banners apoligising to us?.
likewise the club or its millions of decent fans arent responsible for some 20 yr old muppet who chose to speak his own mind and abuse someone racially at a match.thats his problem and his views not mine.

very convenient that the fa should write to both clubs ahead of the fa cup clash warning them about their conduct but absolutely nothing was said when it was thought that luis first game back was at ot.
if your so worried about how evra might be treated at anfield just take a second and spare a thought like for poor luis and the treatment he will recieve on the 11th of febuary.

the relations between us and the fa are at an all time low and by my reckoning they have it in for us over ian ayre's suggestion a while back that clubs should be able to negoitiate there own tv rights.
i wouldnt think that went down too well with them and they will use every excuse they can now to fire the book at us.

Red - I never meant for my suggestion to be insulting. Both Luis and the club have already apologised for both incidents. What do you suggest the answer is because I'm lost to think of a satisfactory solution. Maybe a banner emblazoned across the Kop saying "YOUR SISTER'S PUSSY" in a quote bubble with a picture of Evra  would be more apt! I'm as frustrated as everybody else by the Suarez situation and I feel very sorry for him. I couldn't give a flying fk about Evra! I am however very concerned as to how we will be viewed worldwide and in the eyes of potential sponsors if we fail to do something positive for the world to see.Abusing Evra is not the answer. He simply is not worth it.What is the answer?

Roger - isn't that the key problem? What crime exactly did Luis commit? He had a silly schoolyard argument on a football pitch and was honest enough to admit what he said unlike Evra until he was presumably under oath! People including myself feel that the club and Luis have been hung out to dry and for that reason they will find it very difficult to move on.

Bitterness is for our bluenose neighbours. It's not befitting of a red supporter.

Move on.

the fact that the club has apologised for their handling of the affair and suarez apologised if anyone was offended by his comments is enough.
we all agree that the fa's case was itself questionable and badly handled but we stand by our player because we believe he is not a racist and has been labelled one unfairly
.
that muppet who abused the oldham player is a plonker.it was an isolated incident and from what ive read the first at anfield.he is an epic fail on his parents behalf and i hope they abandon him with the shame he's brought on them.
that kind of abuse has no place in football or society and the club acted correctly in their response.
there is no overnight answers to this and the solution probably is that this will all blow over and the clubs rep will remain intact.the sponsors will keep funding because we make money and the club will throw itself further into the kick it out campaign to boost public relations.

i hope its business as usual when they play, same banners and the same songs and i hope every time evra touches the ball he gets booed and jeered and heckled because he's a hateful kunt, not because he's black.

There have been some rumour that Mourinho wants L.S. I don't know how true this is but if Suarez opts to go then there's nothing we can do. The last thing we want is another sulking player. I'm sure we don't want to sell him at any price and the only way he'll be sold would be in the event he submits a transfer request. If that happens, then we bl**dy make sure we can get at least another 50 million and use it to find an even better replacement and please NO MORE panic buys.

His finishing is not good, so I won't be too overly disappointed if he goes provided we can that quality replacement.

ok lemme see, the Real Scums...
they took Macca, our best winger for years, for free.
they took Judas, our best striker for years, for 8m.
they took Alonso, one of our best ever mid, for 30m.

and ya, they will bid 50m for Suarez. in ur dreams.

Real Madrid Transfer Rumours: A Move for Liverpool's Luis Suarez Is Unnecessary

January 10, 2012

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer Liverpool £30 million for striker Luis Suarez, which is an unnecessary move by the Spanish club that won't even help them that much.

While this move would help Liverpool in the short term and allow them to have a ton of funds to purchase another world-class forward this month, giving up on Suarez after about a year is the wrong move.

Even though Suarez is currently serving his eight-match ban handed down by the FA for racially abusing Manchester United left back Patrice Evra back in October, the Uruguayan star still has a significant role to play at Anfield this season.

Besides, Suarez is not what Los Blancos need in this transfer window.

Madrid already has enough attacking talent; what they need is stronger defensive players. If they have £30 million to spend in this month's transfer window, they would be better served buying a defender such as Maicon from Inter Milan, who would cost significantly less than Suarez and would have a larger impact this season.

Madrid don't need goal scorers to beat Barcelona; they need players who are more talented defensively. As good as Marcelo is as an attacking player, his defensive abilities against world-class forwards are poor. Someone like Maicon would be an upgrade over Marcelo.

Another reason Madrid don't need Suarez is because there is no place to put him in the starting XI. Why pay £30 million for a striker who won't even start matches on a consistent basis?

French striker Karim Benzema and Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain are both better players than Suarez, and cutting into their playing time by putting Suarez on the pitch would be a foolish move by Mourinho.

Suarez seems quite comfortable at Liverpool, and the fans have really enjoyed his play since arriving last January.

Liverpool don't need to sell their best striker when the club is capable of playing well while his ban is being served.

Since Liverpool selling Suarez and Real Madrid buying him are both foolish for their own reasons, there is no way this transfer happens, which is best for everyone involved.
