Poyet jumps to Suarez defence

Seagulls boss accuses Evra of 'crying like a baby'

Gus Poyet: Jumps to the defence of Luis Suarez in Patrice Evra row

Former Uruguay midfielder Gus Poyet has jumped to the defence of countryman Luis Suarez over allegations he racially abused Patrice Evra.

The Liverpool striker has been charged by the Football Association after Evra told French television station Canal Plus that Suarez had used a racist insult to him "at least 10 times" during last month's 1-1 Premier League draw at Anfield.

The Reds stated earlier this week that Suarez will plead 'not guilty' to the charge when he returned from international duty and that they remain "fully supportive" in the matter.

The Brighton man says he was often abused during his seven years in Spain prior to joining Chelsea and thinks Evra is 'crying like a baby' by complaining.

"I played for seven years in Spain and was called everything because I was from South America," said the former Tottenham man.

No proof

"And I never went out crying like a baby, like Patrice Evra, saying that someone said something to me.

"I believe Suarez. It's simple. I am surprised in a really sad way that he has been charged.

"I think it is worse to charge someone because you trust one person when you have no proof."

He added: "I am sad because it is going to become too easy. I can make a complaint about an opposition manager and if I take it as far as I can he will be charged.

"Why are we going to take one person's word over another's?"

I dont think the FA would even consider charging/banning him if they didnt have enough evidence to suggest he did it. I dont really care about what Terry did or what the FA do about it and I dont think it relates to the charges against Suarez. No doubt it highlighted the issue but that for me can only be a good thing.

With or without him, we move on.

But they charged him because he ''allegedly'' abused Evra.

How can the FA charge him for speculation? Its all wrong, you charge him if you think you have sufficiant evidence to do so! or you move on.

The problem is, anyo player can go to the press and claim another player racially abused him. Then there you have it, the FA comes up and charges the other player.

its ridiculious, you want to charge someone, you make it clear in your statement that you have sufficiant evidence that the player racially abused the other, not ''allegedly''.

"Chicharito" Hernandez returns motivated
Friday May 11, 2007

Just unpacked in South America, where he participated in a preparation tour Argentina with the Mexican U-20, the young striker Javier Guadalajara "Chicharito" Hernandez gets the orders of José Manuel "Chepe" De La Torre for this phase of playoffs with Chivas.
Helpful to consider the tour of U-20 Tricolor, Javier Hernandez: "We did very well in Argentina. Go to South America serves blanks for whatever comes, whether U-20 World or Pan American Games"
The young striker set to return to Chivas with all the willingness to be helpful: "We are 100% to work with intensity, under the command of Technical and humbly to assist the team in this postseason, which seeks bicampeonato"
"Chicharito" Hernandez yesterday highlights the goal scored by another young man as Omar Esparza, in a win over Tigers: "I liked the goal of the Negrito (Omar Esparza), I think it's a sign that Chivas youth, we are ready to respond in big games such as playoffs. For my part I will continue working with humility to earn a chance.[B]

Well looks like Luis will have to call la chipollata in as a witness for the defence.

the police are due to see him, would love to be there when he has to look at the video with them.

but from what i hear the video from sky can not be used in court or by the police.....seems a bit strange to me, they can only use players reports and the ref report.

I am assuming when they use the term 'charged' they actually have evidence to haul him in for an explanation. If not and its simply a hearing so he can have his say on the accusations then I think they need to change the wording. Charging someone usually means you have something concrete to bring the lad in for, if not its a joke really.

at this stage i doubt whether any charges will fall on terry.he has been caught red handed and they seem to be dragging their heels on it.
seriously doubt the fa are going to charge him at all and he might get a caution from the police of a lesser nature and the fa will class that as sufficent.

no way will they charge englands captain and brand him a racist.
he'l walk and be smiling alongside rio lining up in the euros next year for sure!!

The fa can not do anything untill the police have ended the case. If the fa ban him right now then it would stop the police from building a case.
